SANCTUARY GATHERING SET FOR SEPTEMBER 12

The Dorcus Oboetswe Foundation will host The Sanctuary Gathering on 12 September 2026 under the theme "From Silence to Sanctuary," an event aimed at breaking the culture of silence around abuse, poverty, trauma and other forms of brokenness. Tickets are priced at P150, while attendees are encouraged to wear white with tukwi. The venue is yet to be announced.

Held under the tagline, "Your voice matters. Your story is safe here," the gathering seeks to create a safe space for women from different churches to share their experiences, receive prayer and practical support, and encourage churches to become places of healing rather than judgment.

The foundation has also invited churches interested in partnering with the initiative to get involved.

About the Event
The Sanctuary Gathering is a faith and community event convened to address a quiet crisis in our churches, homes, and society: the culture of silence around pain, abuse, poverty, and brokenness.

The Heart of the Gathering
This event is not about exposing people. It is about exposing the darkness that forces people into silence.
The Sanctuary Gathering creates space for honesty, prayer, ministry, and practical support. It declares that this house will be a sanctuary: where the broken are bandaged, captives are set free, and no one is too poor or too broken for Jesus.

Why It Matters Now
For too long people have suffered quietly because they feared judgment. The Sanctuary Gathering invites them out with grace, and calls the church to become what it was always meant to be: a hospital, not a courtroom. As a foundation when we are giving out to the community this are some of the situation we get to hear from people hence why we took a step to gather women from all churches to break this situations as a foundation. Which leads us to using the tag line
