A joint site inspection was conducted to assess the progress of works at Tali Shedra Road Widening, Dungmang Chiwog Road Improvement, and Leyleygang to Tsheldang Zampa Farm Road Construction.

The 1.5 km Tali Shedra road widening work is progressing well with steady advancement and no major issues observed.

At Dungmang Kamjong Chiwog road improvement (HICDP-ll) work has reached 1.2 km out of the total 2.0 km and is proceeding as per schedule and It will continue till 21/09/2026.
For the Leyleygang to Tsheldang Zampa Farm Road (HICDP-l), first cutting has been completed for 5.64 km and back cutting for 5.45 km, Contract End Date on 18/08/2026.
Overall, work progress at all three sites is good, and the inspection team advised the contractor to continue works as planned while maintaining quality standards throughout ex*****on.

In commemoration of Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen's Birthday Anniversary and the World Environment Day, the Nangkor Gewog Administration, in collaboration with hospital staff, BPC personnel, BDBL staff, RBP staff and other officials participated in a cleaning campaign.

The event demonstrated our collective commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being. Through the active participation and cooperation of all stakeholders, the program was carried out successfully.

Road Safety Awareness & Driving Test Refresher Program Underway at Nangkor Gewog

Road Safety Awareness Program and Refresher Course for Driving Test are being conducted at Nangkor Gewog Centre on 14th and 15th May 2026 for the benefit of the people from the three Upper Kheng Gewogs. A total of 88 participants are attending the program.

Upon the request of Nangkor Gewog to Gelephu Regional RTO, the awareness program and refresher course are being carried out by the team led by Gelephu Regional RTO in collaboration with Zhemgang BCTA to enhance road safety awareness and support aspiring drivers in the community.

The first day of the program was dedicated to road safety awareness, during which lunch was generously provided to all participants by Gelephu Regional BCTA Office. The second day is focused on the driving test for aspiring drivers.

The awareness program to better prepare on the New upcoming regulations of 2026 which will be implemented from w.e.f 01/07/2026.

Nangkor Gewog would like to sincerely acknowledge and thank Gelephu Regional BCTA RTO and Zhemgang BCTA officials for their dedicated support and valuable services rendered to the people of Upper Kheng.

Following the recent heavy rain accompanied by hailstones and strong winds, a house at Tseldang under Nangkor Gewog suffered damage after the roofing sheets were blown off by the powerful storm. Upon receiving the information, the Nangkor Gewog team visited the affected household to assess the situation and extend immediate support to the family during this difficult time. The incident reflected the growing vulnerability of rural households to unpredictable natural calamities caused by changing weather patterns.

As an immediate disaster response measure, the Gewog team handed over tarpaulin sheets that had been kept in preparedness for such emergencies. The temporary shelter support was provided to help protect the household belongings and create safer living conditions until permanent repair works could be initiated. The affected family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the response and concern shown by the Gewog officials during the crisis.

Officials from RICBL Zhemgang also visited the site to assess the degree of damage caused to the property. Their assessment was carried out to evaluate the extent of the loss and facilitate possible insurance-related support and claims process. The joint visit by the Gewog team and RICBL demonstrated coordinated efforts in standing beside the affected family and ensuring timely assistance in the aftermath of the disaster.

Such incidents remind communities of the importance of disaster preparedness, mutual support, and timely interventions in safeguarding the wellbeing of rural households. The dedication shown by the Nangkor Gewog team in responding swiftly reflects the spirit of public service and care for the people during times of hardship.

Handing-Taking Over of Gangbee Farm Road (FR) under Buli Chiwog

The construction of the Gangbee Farm Road (FR) under Buli Chiwog was successfully completed and formally handed over to the community on 04/05/2026. The handover was carried out in the presence of the Gewog Engineer, Accountant, Technician, Contractor, and other Gewog officials, signifying the official transfer of ownership and responsibility to the community.

This milestone marks a significant achievement in improving rural connectivity and accessibility, and is expected to greatly benefit the residents of Buli Chiwog by facilitating easier transportation of goods, enhancing access to essential services, and contributing to overall socio-economic development. The community has been entrusted with the proper use, care, and maintenance of the infrastructure to ensure its long-term sustainability.

Chamtang Jongmen Farm Road Successfully Completed and Handed Over

The Gewog Administration officially handed over the Chamtang Jongmen Farm Road (FR) to the community today, in the presence of the Gewog officials, Engineer, Accountant, Technician, and the proprietor of Kwangdi Hiring.

Inaugurated on 20 December 2025, the construction of the road was far from easy. Steep terrain and large boulder areas made excavation and blasting a tough task. However, through determination and continuous effort, the work was successfully completed.

Today, the finished road stands as more than just a stretch of connectivity—it represents progress for the people of Chamtang Jongmen. It will improve access, ease daily travel, and support the livelihoods of the community.

As people begin to use the road, it reflects not only hard work and cooperation but also a shared hope for better opportunities ahead. This road is expected to serve the community well for many years to come.
