The pioneering initiative to transform Paro International Airport into green and energy self sustaining facility under the Paro Airport Green Energy (PAGE) Initiative. This initiative brings together an intelligent mix of three renewable and grid-supporting resources: 1.5 MW of rooftop solar PV generation, a 2.4 MWh LiFePO₄ Battery Energy Storage System, and the national hydropower grid. These components are seamlessly integrated through an advanced Power Conversion Systems and a robust Battery Management System, ensuring 100% reliability of electricity supply to Paro International Airport—one of Bhutan’s most vital and strategic infrastructure facilities.

This handing taking over of PAGE assets arrangement will enable DoAT to own, operate and maintain the facility after the approval from the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Bhutan.

Coinciding with an auspicious Z***r today, Norion Renewable Energy Limited (NREL) successfully commissioned the 276.64 kWp Rooftop Solar (RTS) Project at the Pema Center under the Phase IV Solar Initiative Project.

The project was planned, designed, and implemented entirely in-house by Norion Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), Desuung Skilling Programme (DSP), His Majesty's Secretariat (HMS). Completed within just 1.5 months, the project was delivered through the skilling and engagement of Desuups, with a total investment of Nu. 9.44 million.

This initiative marks another significant milestone in advancing Bhutan's renewable energy development and reinforces the nation's commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable energy future.

Commencement of Installation Works for 1 Mega Watts ( MW) Rooftop Solar Project at JSW Law College under the Phase IV Solar Initiative Project. The project is being planned, designed, and implemented entirely in-house by Norion Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), DSP, HMS through the skilling of Desuups with a total investment of Nu. 34 million.

The implementation period is scheduled for three months. This initiative represents another important milestone in advancing national renewable energy development and supporting Bhutan’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
