🌸 A Beautiful Farewell to the Rhododendron Festival 2026 🌸
Reflecting on a spectacular finale! This past Thursday, April 9th, we officially wrapped up the Rhododendron Festival, and what an unforgettable journey it has been through the vibrant blooms of our natural heritage.
We were deeply honored to have Dasho Tashi Wangmo, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC), join us as our Chief Guest. Her presence added a layer of grace and inspiration to the ceremony, emphasizing how tradition and progress go hand-in-hand.
🌱 Sustainability in Bloom: Our Special Feature
One of the true highlights of our festival was the showcase of upcycled durable bags crafted entirely from waste materials. This initiative was more than just a stall; it was a testament to our commitment to a greener environment.
By turning waste into wonder, this project:
Protects our ecosystem, ensuring the rhododendrons have a cleaner world to bloom in.
Empowers our women, providing them with specialized skills and a sustainable source of income.
The closing went smoothly, leaving us all inspired by the blend of natural beauty and human ingenuity.
✨ Closing Reflection
"In the garden of life, nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. Like the rhododendron, may we find the strength to bloom in our own time, and the wisdom to protect the roots that sustain us."
Thank you to everyone who visited our stalls, the organizers, and our community for making this year's festival a resounding success.
Until next year, keep blooming! 🌺🍃

🇧🇹 A Moment of Royal Grace: A Day to Cherish at the Rhododendron Festival 🇧🇹
Today, amidst the blooming beauty of the Rhododendron Festival, the hearts of the Women Self-Support Group for Waste Management were filled with a profound sense of gratitude and immense honor.
In a gesture that epitomizes the compassionate leadership and selfless service of our visionary Monarch, His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck graced the group with Selra (Royal Gift). This sacred token of appreciation is not merely a gift; it is a powerful recognition of the tireless dedication these women pour into keeping our environment pristine and our nation beautiful.
Honoring Grassroots Dedication
The presence of the Druk Gyalpo brought a special radiance to the festival. His Majesty’s interaction with the group served as a poignant reminder that no service is too small and that every hand involved in the preservation of our natural heritage is valued by the Golden Throne.

Reflecting on a Milestone Weekend: The Tragopan Pheasant Festival 2026 🇧🇹✨
Yesterday marked the closing of an unforgettable Tragopan Pheasant Festival, and our hearts are full. It was a weekend of deep honor, starting with our meeting with His Royal Highness the Gyaltshab, and concluding with the blessed presence of Tshula Rimpoche and the Honorable Minister of Agriculture.
Weaving a Future for the "Vulnerable" 🪶🌿
The highlight of our showcase was sharing our mission of Environmental Conservation through Upcycling. As we explained to the Honorable Minister and Rimpoche, our fine baskets and durable bags aren't just products—they are a solution. By collecting plastic waste from our villages and forest edges, we are:
• Protecting Nesting Grounds: Clearing the habitats where the rare Satyr Tragopan forages.
• Preventing Pollution: Keeping plastic out of our sacred soil and waterways.
• Honoring Life: Following the spiritual guidance of Rimpoche to protect all sentient beings, including the birds that share our home.
Gratitude and Growth 🙏
To see our leaders take such a keen interest in how women-led self-help groups can turn "waste" into "worth" was truly inspiring. Their encouragement has strengthened our resolve to expand our recycling efforts and keep our environment pristine for the generations—and the wildlife—to come.
Thank you to everyone who visited us on March 29th and throughout the festival. Your support helps us keep our forests clean and our community strong.
