The DoEE–Loden Spring Call for Business Proposals 2026 is swiftly approaching its close. With only ten days remaining, this is the decisive moment for visionaries to crystallize their aspirations into proposals that may shape Bhutan’s entrepreneurial future.

This year’s call offers a blended financing package – Interest-free loans coupled with a non-repayable derisking fund – crafted to embolden bold ideas. In addition, the newly inaugurated Loden Women’s Enterprise Window, supported by the Bronwen and Brian Mills Education Trust, provides dedicated capital and international mentorship through the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.

We love to talk about innovation, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. In fact, we use these words in excess in policy documents, speeches, and conferences. Yet, on the ground, the conditions required for innovative ideas to take root and flourish are fragile, if not hostile. If we are serious about building a resilient economy driven by Bhutanese enterprise, we must begin by creating an ecosystem that supports those willing to take risks with bold ideas.
