The RENEW Community Service Center successfully conducted Center Visibility and Awareness Programs at Lauri Primary School and Minjiwoong Central School.

The sessions focused on creating awareness and strengthening understanding around Child Protection, Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Domestic Violence (DV), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual Harassment, and the support services available through the Center.

Through meaningful discussions and interactive engagement, the programs provided an opportunity for students to learn, ask questions, and build greater awareness of safety, rights, respectful relationships, and available support and referral pathway.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the school management, especially the Principals, for welcoming us and providing us with the valuable opportunity to connect with the students and school communities.

Together, through awareness and collaboration, we can create safer, more informed, and supportive communities for all.

Glimpse of participants engagement!

📍 Jomori Hydropower Project, Lauri | 28–30 August 2026

The RENEW Community Service Center (CSC), Samdrup Jongkhar, successfully conducted a three-day sensitisation and awareness programme at the Jomori Hydropower Project, Lauri, with generous financial support from Rigsar Construction Private Limited.

The programme focused on RENEW Center Visibility, Domestic Violence (DV), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), alongside the rollout of Early Identification and Safe Referral (EISR), Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), and Parenting and Caregiving.

Designed to reach the project’s staff and their families, the programme was conducted at timings convenient for the workers, ensuring that the sessions did not disrupt their regular working hours. The programme was officially opened in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Dasho Dzongda, Dasho Drungpa, CEO, and Board Director of Rigsar Construction Private Limited.

The sessions were facilitated by the RENEW CSC and CBSS Dzongkhag Coordinator in collaboration with the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) focal person and the Counsellor from Minjiwoong Central School. The collaborative efforts created a meaningful platform for learning, dialogue, and reflection on issues related to safety, protection, wellbeing, and healthy families and communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the entire Jomori Hydropower Project team, especially the Project Manager and focal person, for providing us with this valuable opportunity and for their coordination and support in making the programme a success.

A special note of appreciation goes to the Counsellor of Minjiwoong Central School for the unwavering support and valuable contribution throughout the programme. 🙏🏻

Celebrating International Youth Day 2026 🌱

On 12 August 2026, the Center celebrated International Youth Day at Karmaling HSS, bringing together DAISAN members from Phuntshothang MSS and Karmaling HSS for a meaningful day of youth engagement and celebration.

The event was further enriched by the presence and participation of CBSS volunteers, whose continued support contributes to strengthening youth participation and community engagement.

The program was honoured by the gracious presence of the Dasho Drungpa of Samdrupcholing Drungkhag, making the celebration even more meaningful.

Together, we celebrate young people - their voices, potential, creativity, and their role in shaping a safer, stronger, and more inclusive community.
