Langchenphu Gewog observed World Water Day 2026 with a successful Nationwide River and Stream Cleaning Campaign on 22nd March, covering all chiwogs and Jomothrom. A total of 219 participants including officials from the Gewog Administration, Regional Offices, Drungkhag Administration, and the general public, actively contributed to the initiative.
The initiative ensured comprehensive cleaning of major water bodies and sources across the Gewog, including key rivers, streams, and drinking water sources such as Rongchuthang River, Agra Ri (left & right streams), Chukarpo source and stream, Borla water source, Barkachema and Surjiholi areas. The coordinated effort significantly improved the cleanliness of water sources and surrounding areas, reinforcing our shared responsibility to protect and sustain vital natural resources for future generations.
