Construction of Namdrupchoeling Retreat Centre Project at Bumthang

His Eminence Terton Drukdra Dorji Yangsid Ugyen Thinley Kunchap Rimpoche has arrived in Canberra today, March 21, 2024. The community members and executive members of the Bhutanese-based non-profit organization warmly welcomed Rimpoche.

At the request of the organizing committee members, His Eminence Trulku Rimpoche has agreed to conduct the following religious programs in Canberra starting from tomorrow, March 22, 2024 until 27 March 2024:

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗸𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲.

The Goenpa is the sacred seat of His Holiness Barkha Rigzin Khamsum Yongdrol and His younger brother His Holiness 8th Speech reincarnation of Peling Kunzang Tenpai Nima. They were the root Guru of 19th Chhoetse Poenlop Kuzho Pema Tenzin. It is situated near the Tharpaling Highway at the sacred abode of His Holiness Kuenkhen Longchen Rabjam, Northwards from the Namdrup Choeling Naktshang at Uruk Drangbi, Chumey Gewog in Bumthang.
Dasho Thinley narrates that later on, Her Majesty Uruk Ashi Tshering Yangzom unloosened existing ruined Lhakhang and granted timber to Tharpaling Goenpa during the times of Lama’s Residence and monks’ cell construction.
After the third generations of Ugyen Namdruk Choeling Goenpa’s ruins, Her Royal Gyalyum Ashi Kezang Choden Wangchuck met Dasho Thinley and kindly ordered to reconstruct it in 2010. Then in 2011, Her Royal Gyalyum bestowed Nu. 1, 00,000/- (One Lakh only) with the profound prayers to Dasho Thinley and he immediately constructed retreat hall accommodating three persons at the site. Contemplating over the flourishing of Buddhist teachings and sanctity of the place, the sacred seat of His Holiness Longchen Rabjam, Dasho felt to establish the retreat center of Longchen Nyingthik.
Since then, Dasho offered Goenpa to the reincarnation of Terton Drukdra Dorji, His Eminence Ugyen Drodul Thinley Kuenchab Rinpoche on11.11.2015 with the written affidavit of Bhutan. Rinpoche then ruminated over Buddhist teachings and practice particularly on the Longchen Nyingthik and agreed to establish retreat center. In addition, under the generous auspices of Dawa Gyeltshen from Langnyekha, Chukha, four apartments of monks’ cell along with the toilets and bathrooms were constructed in front of Naktshang on 06.09.2016. For the commencement of work at Namdrukchoeling Goenpa, Zeko from Langnyekha, Chukha also kindly completed four kilometers of road connectivity on 20.10.2017.
The vision of Dasho Thinley and Rinpoche on Namdrukchoeling Goenpa is, in future;

One of the elegances of Buddha & Dharma, Longchenpa; The king of Buddhist teachings & practices, Jigme Lingpa; Likewise, until the samsara get rid of sufferings; May the power of teaching, practice, hearing, assumption and visualization bring elegance?
Likewise, the hopes and prayers on this matter are to establish the retreat center of Longchen Nyingthik without any delay. This temporary adjournment caused was due to the inconvenience of adequate finance and Rinpoche also entered into the retreat. The upcoming construction of Namdrukchoeling Retreat Centre is the initiative of the Rimpoche and it is intended for social cause.

On the good day of the Bhutanese Calendar April 10, 2021, His Eminence Trulku Ugyen Drodul Thinley Kunchap (Chairman) of the upcoming Construction of Namdrupcholing Retreat Centre expressed his warm gratitude to all the volunteers for volunteering and taking part for the construction of retreat center which is intended for noble cause.

The reincarnation of Terton Drukdra Dorji Rinpoche, known as His Eminence Ugyen Droduel Thinley Kunchap Rinpoche is initiating the construction of Namdrupchoeling Retreat Center at Bumthang with the support from his numerous followers, donors, and patrons.
This upcoming project will be sole initiative of Rimpoche where there are also few project management committee.
