NPTA Hightlight of the week.

We wanted to share a delightful experience we recently had at S C McPherson Junior School. Our Chaplain Mr. Justin Rahming was invited to give an informative speech to the eight grade students, and it was truly an inspiring event. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of purpose and it was evident that the Lord was present among them.

The speech touched on the importance of prayer and its impact on our daily lives. It was heartening to see how engaged the students were, and how much they took away from the Chaplain's words. This event also highlighted the significance of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and their role in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for our children.

It was a memorable day for everyone involved, and I believe it has left a lasting impression on the students and staff alike.

As we embrace the 2026 academic year we present the NPTA theme, scripture and our leadership nuggets. 2026/2027

Theme; *SHYFT*
Renew Minds. Reimagine Schools. Restore Hope.

*Romans 12:2* calls for an inward transformation that produces outward change.

Using the *SHYFT* theme, this verse is an ideal anchor because it emphasizes three linked ideas:

1. *Internal renewal first* — Real, sustainable change begins with how leaders think. When we the leaders intentionally renew our mindset (about equity, collaboration, service, and innovation), decisions and actions will follow in healthier, more effective ways.

2. *Refusing old patterns* — “Do not conform to the pattern of this world” challenges us not to default to complacency, finger-pointing, or “we’ve always done it this way.” Instead it invites creative problem-solving and courage to abandon ineffective habits.

3 *Discernment and purpose* — The verse promises the practical outcome of renewed thinking: the ability “to test and approve” God’s will i.e., clearer purpose and better judgement. For the PTA, this means making choices that are not just popular but truly beneficial for students, parents, and teachers.
