By the time a man needs repairing, the work can be harder and more painful, for him and for those around him. What a boy receives early (guidance, discipline, and someone who keeps showing up) helps shape the man he becomes.

That is why (MOT)² starts with boys at 8, not men at 28. We would rather build than repair.

(MOT)² marched in today’s parade, and we’re grateful to our Vice Chairman, our 22 mentees, their parents and guardians, and everyone who supported us.

Our young men walked together in uniform, in public, with men beside them. That’s what this work looks like.

A young man learns more than a lesson when a room full of men chooses to show up for him.

He learns that he is worth the time. That his questions matter. That he does not have to find his way alone. At E.P. Roberts Primary School, (MOT)² mentors stood with students, shared encouragement, and reminded them that their future is real, and that they have men ready to walk with them toward it.

Financial literacy does not land in a lecture. It lands when a young man is holding his own money.

At (MOT)², our Entrepreneurial Development pillar gives boys and young men, from age 8 to 25, hands-on practice: pricing a product, working out what it really costs, counting takings at day’s end, calling a supplier, and keeping his word to a customer because his name is on it.

He is learning that he can build something from nothing, that money follows work, and that his word has value. This pillar works alongside leadership, progression learning, sports appreciation, physical development and spiritual consciousness.

Mentor Andrew Albury served the (MOT)² family as Leadership Pillar Co-lead and Mentor at the Sybil Strachan Primary School Chapter.

“If we only save one, it’s worth it.”

Those words captured how he approached the work. He never measured it by the size of the crowd, only by whether one young man walked away different.

He taught courage, purpose and positive communication. Lessons that continue to live in the young men he mentored. His voice shaped a generation, and his message still speaks.

To honour his words, take his place. There is a young man waiting for someone consistent: someone willing to guide, encourage and walk with him. Become a mentor with (MOT)². Let his own words do the asking: one young man is worth it.

In 2025, all four murder victims aged 18 or younger were school dropouts. Of the 16 people aged 18 or younger charged with murder, 13 were school dropouts. That is 81 percent. These figures were reported by Royal Bahamas Police Force Commissioner Shanta Knowles at the School Police Division’s Second Chance Programme graduation in August 2026.

This is not a call for guilt. It is a call for men who are ready to show up, with wisdom, patience, consistency, and heart.
