Southern Shores, if you have a business idea or a business already running, this is for you.

The SBDC's Guaranteed Loan Programme offers Bahamian entrepreneurs access to up to $500,000 in guaranteed loans, up to $250,000 in equity contribution, and up to $20,000 in matching government grants.

This is the government's flagship programme for small businesses. It's open to startups and existing businesses on every island.

The food vendor. The contractor. The hairdresser. The person who's been running something out of their house for years. This programme was built for you.

August 31 is 8 days away. The UB tuition grant that covers everything, and it's still open.

This is not a loan. This is a grant. The Government Tertiary Grant covers full tuition and compulsory fees for Bahamian citizens enrolled full-time at the University of The Bahamas with at least a 2.00 GPA and 12+ credits.

Once you qualify and stay eligible, it keeps paying.

If your child is starting at UB this fall, or if you're going back yourself, this is the post to act on today.

Apply at ub.edu.bs, go to Admissions, then Financial Aid and Scholarships. UB Financial Aid is also reachable at (242) 302-4371.

Southern Shores parents, did you know the uniform assistance grant just went up?

The government just increased the school uniform grant and most families don't know it happened.

Here's what you can get:
🎒 Pre-school: $170
📚 Primary and junior high: $200
🎓 High school: $230

That's a $50 increase per child, paid out as a gift card redeemable at approved uniform vendors.

To qualify: you must be a Bahamian citizen or permanent resident, earning minimum wage or below.

The window to apply closes in the third week of September. Don't wait, school is already starting.

Apply online at promis.gov.bs or walk into any Department of Social Services office near you.
