NEXT UP🇧🇸🎾 SYDNEY CLARKE CONTINUES TO MAKE HER MARK ON THE INTERNATIONAL TENNIS CIRCUIT!

The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) extends congratulations to Bahamian professional tennis player Sydney Clarke following three weeks of competition at the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 Maanshan Open in China.

Sydney concluded her tournament series with an encouraging performance in the third week, improving on her earlier results and advancing to the third round of qualifying.

Entering the draw as the eighth seed, Sydney secured a convincing 6-4, 6-1 victory over China’s Chengwei Han before facing Xiao Tang in a competitive third-round encounter that ended 6-4, 6-3.

Throughout the three weeks, Sydney continued to make adjustments to her game, overcome early challenges and develop greater confidence on court. Her final week reflected that progress, particularly in her ability to settle into matches more quickly and compete with greater consistency.

Sydney’s experience in China is another important chapter in that journey. For a young Bahamian athlete competing on the world stage, every opportunity to face international opposition contributes to her growth and development.

The BLTA and the wider Bahamian tennis community congratulate Sydney on her continued commitment to the sport.

We are proud to see another Bahamian athlete pursuing her ambitions internationally and carrying our national colours with pride.

🇧🇸 MICHAEL MAJOR JR. MAKING HIS MARK! 🎾

The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association congratulates Michael Major Jr. on an outstanding performance at the 2026 MEAC Tennis Invitational in Cary, North Carolina.

Michael had a tremendous run to the men’s singles final. He defeated the No. 1 seed in a tough three-set quarterfinal and followed that up with a straight-sets win over the No. 3 seed in the semifinals.

In the final Michael faced No. 2 seed Andrii Borodatiuk of South Carolina State. After dropping the first set Michael fought back to take the second before Borodatiuk eventually won 6-1, 2-6, 6-1. Michael finished the tournament as the MEAC Men’s Singles Runner-Up.

What a weekend for this young Bahamian!

Michael continues to show that he belongs among the best in collegiate tennis. Earlier this year he was named Second Team All-MEAC and now he has added another strong performance to his senior season at Howard University.

We have watched Michael represent The Bahamas over the years and we are extremely proud to see him continuing to grow and compete at this level.

Congratulations Michael! Keep working. Keep pushing. The BLTA and the entire Bahamian tennis community are proud of you. 🇧🇸🎾

Semifinals. Justin Roberts Won't Stop. 🇧🇸

From qualifying rounds to the final four — this is a Bahamian on a mission.

He started in qualifiers. Now he's in the semifinals of the ITF M15 in Orlando. Justin Roberts is making history on clay in Florida — and the whole Bahamas is watching. This is exactly why we invest in grassroots tennis. This is exactly why elite coaching matters. Players like Justin don't come from nowhere — they come from courts like ours.

This is what Bahamian tennis looks like on the international stage. This is what we're building toward at home.

We see you, Justin. The Bahamas sees you. 🇧🇸

Drop a 🇧🇸 to show Justin some love from home. Share this so everyone knows what's happening in Orlando right now.
