The relationship between Girl and Horse is captured in Greg Farrington’s captivating piece “Equestrian Dreams,” with Farrington bringing a quiet emotional depth to the scene.

Dior Hepburn has been riding since the age of six, and horses have played a defining role in shaping who she is today. Through equestrian sport, she developed patience, discipline, confidence, and the resilience to keep pushing forward even through challenges. Over time, riding grew beyond a sport into a core part of her identity and personal development.

Her passion now extends beyond competition into creating access and opportunity for young riders in the Bahamas. She is the founder of the Dior Hepburn Equestrian Foundation, an initiative dedicated to expanding equestrian exposure and opportunities for youth who may not otherwise have access to the sport. Through partnerships with Pine Tree Stables in Grand Bahama, she has helped introduce a “Horses 101” program into local government schools, giving students the chance to visit the stables, meet the horses, and experience the equestrian world firsthand.

In recognition of her impact and leadership, she received the Rising Star Award from the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports in 2021.

Alongside her work in equestrian development, she continues to pursue her academic and personal ambitions, having been accepted into her dream school, the University of Miami, where she will study Psychology and Law. Looking ahead, her ultimate goal is to represent The Bahamas in show jumping at the Olympic Games, continuing to build both her athletic and community legacy.

🌿 CALL FOR ARTISTS: ArtLucaya 2027 🌿

Five years ago, ArtLucaya began as a bold vision to celebrate creativity, showcase Bahamian and international artists, and build meaningful connections through art. Today, as we open submissions for our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY exhibition (April 16-18, 2027), we are excited to invite artists to join us on the journey once again.

ArtLucaya 2026 was our biggest year yet. Together, we welcomed more in-person visitors than ever, connected artists with collectors, earned our first international media coverage, and continued our commitment to supporting artists through commission-free sales.

Each year teaches us something new. For 2027, we’ve announced our theme earlier than ever before, giving artists more time to reflect, research, experiment, and create work that responds deeply and authentically to the concept. We’ve also refined our submission timeline to allow our catalogue team the time needed to produce a publication that fully honours the quality of your work.

ArtLucaya has always been more than an exhibition. It is a growing creative community built through collaboration, shared effort, and a belief that art can spark conversation, challenge assumptions, and connect people across backgrounds and experiences.

As we celebrate five years of ArtLucaya, if you are an artist who calls Grand Bahama “home”, we invite you to be part of the next chapter.

The bush can be a place of freedom, mystery, memory, resilience, danger, healing, ancestral knowledge, transformation—or something else entirely.

**What does “Into The Bush” mean to you?**

We can’t wait to see where this year’s theme takes you.

And if you’re an art lover and supporter of Grand Bahama’s creative community, mark your calendar for April 16-18, 2027...see you then!

What happens when a community picks up a paintbrush together? ✨

This past Saturday, at the closing event of ArtLucaya: Dream Big, veteran artists, first-time painters, GBAA members, art lovers, and curious passersby all became part of something bigger than themselves.

“Art Angel” is more than a mural. It’s a living reminder that creativity belongs to everyone.

Inspired by the vibrant energy and movement of Junkanoo, this evolving community artwork will continue to grow with bold colours, expressive marks, and rush-out spirit — inviting every person who stands between its wings to remember this:

Don’t silence your creativity.
Spread your artistic wings in whatever way calls to you. 🎨🪽

Coming soon to MOSAIC Art Hub — Freeport’s newest mural and selfie spot.

Special thanks to Maquelle Monroe for creating the outline for us to play with colour!
