Time - Motive - Tone - Thoughts

The questions we must ask ourselves is this. Is it the right time for me to speak what's on my heart? What is my reason, hope and motive for speaking it? Do I have the right/correct tone in communicating it? Have I chosen the right words to express it? All of these matter, and are not a multiple choice options for us to choose when speaking to our spouse or family.

I read post over and over about advice for those who desire to be married. Since I do not give advice, I will defer to biblical counsel. The first thing is to cultivate a strong personal relationship with Jesus and ask Him daily to reveal your heart to you, never rely on what you feel, take it before the Lord to prove it is correct. Stay in the word, read, study, and mediate. Pray and ask for understanding. A man or woman who is fully submitted to God will walk wisely in this world and be able to discern and choose what is suitable for the will of God for their lives.

No matter what other advice you receive, if it is not supported and established in wise biblical counsel, you are rolling the dice and hoping it works.

Biblical counsel is not a magic wand to spare us from trouble and pain, but it is a guiding light to give us hope, comfort and favor as we navigate through this world.

It all starts with Jesus or there can be no confidence in it at all>
