Purpose Film Project:

Produced by the Ride Nature Organization, the film “Purpose” was created in a collaborative effort with Walking on Water, Nations Foundation, Skate Bible, and This IZ My Story to bring the truth of Jesus Christ to the world through action sports outreach and evangelism. With the support of world-renowned author and speaker, Francis Chan, this film is one that was truly created to “Impact the world through action sports!” The film features 33 of some of the top action sports athletes from all around the globe and a collective combination of footage from some of the most talented filmers in the industry! As this film explodes with some of the most insane shots ever caught on camera, it also dives into the clear and simple message of Jesus Christ and his plan and PURPOSE for each of our lives. Through the message, scripture verses, testimonies, and one unifying connection between each of the athletes, the PURPOSE for why they ride, this film is one that will leave each individual watching asking themselves, “Am I living a life of TRUE PURPOSE?”

Vision for the Film:

Through the past 3 years of hosting countless international outreach events, mission trips, contests, and film premiers we have continued to witness the same need time and time again. This need is an evangelistic tool that can be used to reach the action sports community worldwide with the clear and simple message of Jesus Christ. While there are many amazing organizations that we work with who have created awesome Christian films, there are very few tools or resources available specifically with the intent of evangelism. And unfortunately of the films/tools that are available for this purpose, very few are available in languages other than English. While the “Jesus Film” has done an amazing job at using their video as a HUGE tool for evangelism, unfortunately it just doesn’t attract the younger audience of kids that in many areas of the world are left “unreached”. This group of kids specifically consists of the surf and skate community. The film “Purpose” was produced and created with the intent to be the solution for this problem. By creating a film that attracts the younger audience and a group of individuals that are very hard to reach, this film is a one of a kind resource for youth leaders and ministries worldwide…..not to mention that the film will be made 100% FREE to watch and download online and “giveaway DVD copies” will be made available for partner ministries to purchase at COST! But to stop here would really defeat our purpose of creating this film. Our true goal and long term vision for this project is to see this film translated into as many languages as possible (through actual voice overs, not only subtitles) and as a result making the film available worldwide for ministry leaders, missionaries, and individuals as an incredible tool for evangelism. As a part of a “13 in 2013” campaign we are currently working with churches and ministry partners worldwide with the hope and plan to make this film available in 12 new languages in 2013 alone!

This past May, we hosted our third annual ACTA Conference in Tagaytay, Philippines. Leaders from 10 countries across Southeast Asia and the surrounding region made the trip, many carrying the Gospel to skateparks and beaches with very few resources, connections, or encouragement.

That is exactly why we went. After gathering in Florida in 2024 and California in 2025, we felt God leading ACTA somewhere different. Our heart was for ACTA to go to them.

For three days, we worshiped, prayed, learned, and shared meals. Friendships formed over long conversations, and leaders who had worked in isolation found others who understood the realities of living on mission. Together we dreamed about what God could do through surfing, skateboarding, and action sports across this region.

Then we left the room. Teams went out into the surrounding community and put into practice what we had spent the days talking about, because ACTA was never meant to end in a conference or an auditorium. Our desire is for a genuine movement that inspires action.

Our prayer is that what began in Tagaytay keeps multiplying in skateparks, beaches, cities, churches, and communities across Southeast Asia, and in places we can't yet imagine. That leaders continue to be equipped. Relationships strengthened. Faith coming alive in action. The Gospel carried to the nations so that every tribe and tongue can proclaim the name of Jesus.

We believe this is only the beginning.

In 2025, Ride Nature sent a small team to Portugal to listen and see how God was moving. What we found left a lasting impact.

Though rich in Christian history, many in Portugal and Spain have little understanding of the Gospel's simple truth: salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus alone. That first trip broke our hearts for Western Europe, not just to send teams, but to equip and mobilize leaders to serve and reach this region.

This year, Ethan and Jacqui returned to walk alongside pastors, surfers, and ministry leaders, asking how we could support what God is already doing. They also joined on the Camino de Santiago, hiking, praying, and helping raise support for future mobilization.

That is what pioneering means to us: going where relationships are just beginning, listening before leading, and asking where God might open the door to deeper partnership.

One connection we're excited about is Brazil and Portugal. Brazil has one of the largest Portuguese-speaking populations in the world, with many passionate Christian leaders. We believe it can become a launching pad to mobilize leaders into Portugal.

We don't yet know Ride Nature's role in Western Europe, but God has given us a growing burden, and we want to stay prayerful and ready to respond.

One of our favorite moments in Ireland happened at a tiny skatepark in a small village, the kind of place people drive past without noticing.

We had planned a skate event, hoping to meet locals and spend time with them. When we pulled up, the park was empty, no boards, no kids, no one. And we wondered if anyone would show up.

Then, slowly, they started showing up. A few kids first, then more, even kids who'd never stepped on a skateboard in their life. Our team spent the next few hours teaching them to skate, and in return, the kids showed us how to play hurling, Ireland's national sport.

It was such a simple afternoon. But, like we always say, skateboarding is a language that connects people of all backgrounds and generations. It's our connection point to share about the love and hope of Jesus. We’re always encouraged to see God use boards to reach not just skaters, but entire communities. Thank you for praying alongside us as we take the Good News to the ends!

We recently had the opportunity to send a small team to Ireland, and it reminded us of a simple but powerful truth: ministry is not always about big events. Sometimes it's simply about stepping into what God is already doing in the seemingly insignificant moments.

The trip started with a conversation with John, a big wave surfer, pastor, and founder of a . For years, he carried a vision to create a surf camp where young people could grow in both their faith and love for surfing. We were stocked that our team had the privilege of coming alongside him to help make that vision become reality this summer.

We also partnered with a local church and skate ministry, connecting with young people through skateboarding and seeing how shared passions continue to open doors for the Good News to impact lives across cultures and countries.

John left encouraged and already planning future camps. Local churches are continuing to collaborate, and we formed new relationships that we believe will strengthen ministry across Ireland for years to come.

God also provided for our team in ways we didn't expect, from covering the cost of filming a future To the Ends film to providing last-minute details that made the trip possible. Everything reminded us that where God leads, He provides in every way.

We are grateful for our partnership with and the Zap World Championship of Skimboarding. The biggest championship yet brought together 225 competitors, 45 pros, and over 1,500 spectators in Dewey Beach, DE.

Three days of clean south swell and southwest wind set perfect conditions for different generations of riders, including some of the best in the world.

Congrats to champions and and to Ed Hayden for the Nick Gruber Award.

The mission field looks different everywhere we go. It's always humbling to be used by all means to reach more people with the hope of the Gospel.

There are moments when the Body of Christ has the opportunity to become more than a phrase; we get to become a family.

While many of us enjoy comforts we often take for granted our brothers and sisters around the world are faithfully serving Jesus through incredibly difficult circumstances.

In Cuba, our ministry partners are enduring constant power outages, fuel shortages, and daily challenges just to provide for their families while continuing the work God has called them to. Our goal is to raise $1,500 to provide a generator, fuel, and food to help strengthen their ministry.

In Davao City, Philippines, Josh and Novi Nerez continue to faithfully disciple and raise up the next generation of leaders. As they pour into others week after week, we’re seeking to raise $1,500 to help meet both their family’s needs and the ministry they lead.

The beauty of the Gospel is that we don’t serve silos. When one part of the Body suffers, we all suffer together, and when one part is strengthened, the whole Body is strengthened.

Mission Mondays #004: Return to the Foundation

Sometimes faithfulness looks like simplifying.

Not because the mission has changed.

But because the landscape has.

For the past seventeen years, Ride Nature has existed with one heartbeat: to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth through action sports. That calling remains as clear today as it was in 2009.

This next chapter isn’t a retreat from the mission. It’s a return to the foundation.
