🦅 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆.
The Andean Condor (𝘝𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘺𝘱𝘩𝘶𝘴), one of the world's largest flying birds, soars effortlessly on mountain air currents and finds sanctuary among the towering cliffs of the Andes.

🦜🌿 At the Red-fronted Macaw Nature Reserve, you can still observe this iconic species in the wild. While condors are regular visitors, as many as 35 individuals have been recorded soaring over the reserve at one time—a remarkable sight that highlights the importance of protecting this unique habitat.

🦅 Hoy celebramos el Día Internacional del Cóndor Andino.

El Cóndor Andino (𝘝𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘺𝘱𝘩𝘶𝘴), una de las aves voladoras más grandes del mundo, surca los cielos de los Andes aprovechando las corrientes de aire y encuentra refugio en sus imponentes farallones rocosos.

🦜🌿 En la Reserva Natural Frente Roja aún es posible observar a esta especie emblemática en libertad. Aunque su presencia es frecuente, en algunos momentos se han registrado hasta 35 cóndores sobrevolando la Reserva, un espectáculo que demuestra el valor de conservar este hábitat.

🏺 Did you know that Omereque is home to some of Bolivia’s most fascinating archaeological sites?

Rock art depicting amphibians, ancient fortresses such as Tunas M'oko, and evidence of complex cultural practices make this region a true open-air museum.

Many of these cultural treasures can be explored alongside the stunning landscapes and biodiversity of the Red-fronted Macaw Community Reserve, home to the largest breeding colony of the critically endangered Red-fronted Macaw (Ara rubrogenys), a species endemic to Bolivia.

In the communities of San Carlos, Perereta, and Amaya, local communities took part in training sessions to strengthen community-based tourism and continue developing the skills needed to welcome visitors to this unique landscape.

From birdwatching guiding—including the use of binoculars and spotting scopes, as well as the identification of emblematic species such as the Red-fronted Macaw—to a two-day intensive culinary workshop featuring national and international menu options, including vegetarian and vegan dishes.

These efforts are carried out in coordination with the Management Committee of the Red-fronted Macaw Community Reserve, strengthening local capacities while supporting conservation in the region. 📍

As native forests disappear in Bolivia, these birds lose the trees they depend on for food. This also increases conflict with local farmers.
Together with local communities, we are creating a community nursery to grow native trees and restore their forest home.
