We would also like to thank Nick’s Adventures, Bolivia Birding Expeditions, and Mark Hegedus Tours for their continued support and commitment to promoting responsible tourism in the region.

🦜🌱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱-𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘄 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲
In the communities of San Carlos, Perereta, and Amaya, local communities took part in training sessions to strengthen community-based tourism and continue developing the skills needed to welcome visitors to this unique landscape.

From birdwatching guiding—including the use of binoculars and spotting scopes, as well as the identification of emblematic species such as the Red-fronted Macaw—to a two-day intensive culinary workshop featuring national and international menu options, including vegetarian and vegan dishes.

These efforts are carried out in coordination with the Management Committee of the Red-fronted Macaw Community Reserve, strengthening local capacities while supporting conservation in the region. 📍

As native forests disappear in Bolivia, these birds lose the trees they depend on for food. This also increases conflict with local farmers.
Together with local communities, we are creating a community nursery to grow native trees and restore their forest home.
