Opportunity for Bermudian Dance/Movement Artists:
Krystal Smith-Lowe is seeking two Bermudian dance artists for her Wales Arts International funded bilingual project ‘The History of Us’.
This project brings together organisations from Wales and Bermuda, Kokoro Arts Ltd and Bermuda Civic Ballet, to explore how artists from different backgrounds, cultures, and languages share their artistic process and practice through discussion and dance sessions.
Who?
Any Bermudian dance/movement artist, between 18 and 30 years old, interested in sharing their practice and taking part in a series of international workshops.
Applicants with non-traditional dance/movement training backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
What?
Artists will take part in ten 2-hour dance and discussion sessions via Zoom; two sessions will be led by Krystal Smith-Lowe and the following eight sessions will be shared between the four dance artists (two Welsh and two Bermudian).
Each artist will lead two sessions, sharing their dance practice and discussing how dance/arts helped to shape their culture and development. Following their led sessions, each artist will be supported to create one blog/vlog post about the process of sharing their practice through this project.
Where?
This project will take place remotely, via Zoom, from Wales and Bermuda.
When?
Artists must be available for sessions to take place throughout the month of May. Sessions will be arranged around the artists prior commitments and differing time zones.
*Artists are expected to take part in all 10 sessions.
Fee:
