🌿 **Meet Ndayahundwa Jeanne: A Story of Resilience, Faith, and Hope** 🌿

Ndayahundwa Jeanne is a devoted Christian mother of nine children and a hardworking entrepreneur in the Kanyosha branch. Through her fruit-selling business, she has successfully completed eight loan cycles with Wezesha, demonstrating remarkable determination and commitment to improving her family's future.

Like many small business owners, Jeanne faces significant challenges. Rising fuel costs have increased the price of goods and made transportation more difficult. Some days, she spends an entire day searching for stock. At the same time, customers have less purchasing power, leading to lower sales and increased spoilage of her fruit.

Despite these obstacles, Jeanne has experienced meaningful progress through the Wezesha Project. The income from her business and access to loans have enabled her to purchase chairs, mattresses, and a breathing machine to help manage her health condition. She has also been able to keep her children in school by paying their school fees.

Jeanne describes her family life as generally stable. Her husband knows about her participation in Wezesha, though financial challenges sometimes make it difficult for him to support the family when business is slow.

Her work environment presents additional difficulties. Local authorities occasionally require vendors to relocate, and the limited space available for selling often forces her to place some of her products on the ground when her stock is large.

Yet Jeanne remains hopeful. Her dream is to purchase a plot of land through the profits from her business and the continued support of Wezesha. Above all, she hopes for good health as she continues to live with a chronic lung condition.

📚✨ Strengthening Our Impact Through Learning!

Last Tuesday, our team participated in an Outcome-Based Training facilitated by Ketty Munezero from One Hope.

The training provided practical knowledge and valuable insights into outcome-based approaches, helping us better understand how to plan, implement, and evaluate activities with a focus on meaningful results and lasting impact. It was an enriching opportunity to reflect on our work and strengthen our capacity to serve communities more effectively.

We are grateful to One Hope and our facilitator for this investment in our growth. The knowledge gained will help us enhance the quality, effectiveness, and impact of our ongoing programs.

Together, we continue learning, growing, and creating positive change.

Today marked a powerful step forward for the women of Gitega

With the opening of our new office, we celebrate the women who have just received their loans—women of courage, vision, and determination. This is more than financial support; it is the unlocking of potential, the beginning of new businesses, and the strengthening of families and communities.

At Wezesha, we believe that when a woman is empowered, a generation is transformed. These loans are seeds planted in faith, discipline, and hard work—and we are confident they will bear lasting fruit.

“To each is given according to their ability… and they went and put it to work.” (Matthew 25:15-16)

May this new journey be filled with growth, wisdom, and favor. Gitega is rising, and these women are leading the way.

On our final day of work in Gitega, we had the privilege of meeting the women supported by the Centre de Développement des Femmes de Gitega (CDFG).

This moment marked a powerful opportunity to come alongside women who are already being guided and nurtured. As the Bible reminds us, “two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9). By joining hands, we can strengthen their journey—not only intellectually, but also financially—creating a greater and lasting impact together.

Our mission in Gitega goes beyond teaching and supporting women in the capital. We are committed to reaching even the most remote and overlooked areas of Gitega—places where many have never imagined they could be seen, valued, or supported.

We are guided by the Word of God, which calls us to go beyond boundaries and reach those in need:
• “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)
• “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)
• “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” (Psalm 82:3)

As part of this vision, Wezesha is preparing a site near the Twa community in Gitega—creating a space where hope, support, and transformation can reach those who need it most

✨ From small beginnings to lasting transformation

In Rukaramu, NIYONIZEYE Gaudelieve’s journey is a testimony of growth, faith, and resilience.

She joined Wezesha in January 2024 with a small kitenge business and limited capital. Today, now in her 7th loan cycle, she has expanded her business to include fertilizer and is seeing increased weekly profits.

Beyond business, her life at home has changed. She invested in chairs and a table for her family, and together with her husband, bought a TV so their children could stay safe, spend time at home, and grow in a healthy environment.

After 20 years in business, Gaudelieve says she has never experienced growth like this in just two years.

She credits her transformation not only to financial support, but to the trainings—especially those rooted in God’s Word—that strengthened her faith and work ethic.
