On Friday, March 27, ECY – Environment Conscious Youths successfully organized a conference under the theme: “Engaged Youth for Sustainable Agriculture: Feeding Today Without Compromising Tomorrow.”
The event brought together more than 90 young participants from the University of Ngozi and other institutions, creating a dynamic space for learning, exchange, and inspiration.
Throughout the conference, speakers highlighted the importance of innovation in agriculture, particularly in organic and sustainable practices. They emphasized the role of youth engagement in creating employment opportunities, becoming role models within their communities, and contributing to a more resilient future. The discussions clearly showed that young people are not only beneficiaries of change, but active drivers of transformation.
The event also provided an opportunity to present ECY, its vision, and its ongoing and future activities. Participants were introduced to the club’s initiatives and encouraged to take part in actions promoting environmental protection and sustainable development.
This conference marks another step forward in empowering young people to take responsibility and actively contribute to building a sustainable and food-secure future.
