Restoration Burundi thank you and courage in all that you do! Its encouraging to hear and witness the stories of the lives you are transforming.

Restobu, with the support of MuhiraConnect is hosting a 2-day training for former prisoners on 23–24 July 2026.
For years, Restobu has supported vulnerable prisoners through legal assistance, helping secure the release of hundreds of people. However, freedom is only the beginning. Many former prisoners leave prison carrying deep psychological wounds and face the difficult challenge of reintegrating into communities that are not always welcoming.
This training aims to support them on that journey by promoting healing, resilience, and successful reintegration into society. Similar trainings were organized for other former prisoners a few months ago, with encouraging results.

Wrongfully imprisoned at 31, Gloriose returned home at 47 to a fractured life and deep emotional trauma. Today, she is reclaiming her future through RESTOBU’s mental health counseling and tailoring training program.

True justice doesn't end at release—it requires restoration. RESTOBU advocates for the wrongfully detained and provides the vital support needed to piece their lives back together.

This post is a thank you from brave women to everyone who supports them.

Because of your kindness:
- Economically disadvantaged HIV-positive women can still find comfort and care at the WOI “Life Clinic.”
- Their dignity stays intact when they can only pay half of their hospital and medicine costs, because the other half is being covered by your generosity.

Rose* chooses not to hide her HIV status. By being open, she has encouraged other women to get tested; she has saved countless lives.

Chantal’s* eyes still light up when she talks about preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTCT).

Lydia* can get diabetes medicine that she could not afford otherwise.

This post is also meant to raise awareness.
The fight against HIV is still real. Families affected by HIV still need our help to make at least one of their many burdens a little lighter.
