Around 15 local churches of Gihanga are now involved and became very productive in the area. To advocate for the relief of a child
Many actions regarding advocacy on the behalf of a child are performed on daily basis at many levels (individual, community and national levels). We realize many interventions either legally or just socially to convince parent who misbehaves against the good of the child. An average of 45 to 74 children and youth are assisted each month.²
The Self Help Group Approach
In the same way, SOJPAE with the collaboration of the local community initiated the approach of Self Help Group in Gihanga where 20 Women Associations of about 300 women started working together and function as SHG. In terms of children assisted , around 1500 children and young people are assisted. Though, these are still infant, they are effective.
