On December 28, the general assembly of AASMR was held at the association's headquarters located in Muyira, Muyira zone, Mukaza commune, Bujumbura province.
Before presenting the agenda, the coordinator, who also represents AASMR before the law, Councilor Hitimana Jean Claude, welcomed the participants and wished them a happy holiday season in his opening speech. After presenting the agenda, he asked the heads of different sectors to present the achievements of the last 6 months of the year 2025.
It appeared that during this period, progress had been made in various sectors, including the monthly contributions of AASMR members, which had increased from 1,000 FBU to 10,000 FBU per month.
In the planning sector, progress had also been made, with some activities completed and others in the final stages of being edited, and would be followed up to find ways to implement them.
In the external relations sector, the head of the group in charge of seeking funding had informed that during those months, they had written to various embassies and organizations to request their support for AASMR projects. Some had responded positively, while others had asked for clarification on AASMR and its objectives. The group had indicated that they would continue to explore ways to support AASMR projects, with the aim of contributing to the country's development and finding solutions to the problems facing young people.
The planning sector had presented the projects that AASMR plans to implement soon in the year 2026, which were approved by the general assembly. A draft of the internal regulations of AASMR (Règlement d'ordre intérieur) had also been presented, with the aim of strengthening AASMR.
In other matters, a representative of members from the interior had requested that they be facilitated, as attending meetings in Bujumbura was costly. His request had been heard by the AASMR leadership, who had promised to take action.
