Big news from Holistic Impact Hub! 🌱
We just launched something we're really proud of: the HIH Community Health app — built to help our communities recognize the warning signs of illness early and support each other, together.

This app is for everyone we serve across the Great Lakes region — Congolese refugees, Burundian returnees, and our host communities alike — because health doesn't stop at a border, and neither does care.

With this app, you can:

✅ Check your own symptoms for things like malaria, cholera, typhoid, and more
✅ See and share community health alerts in real time
✅ Learn simple, life-saving prevention steps
✅ Use it in English, French, or Kirundi/Swahili

This is Ubuntu in action — I am because we are. No one should face a health scare alone, and no community should be caught off guard by an outbreak they could have seen coming.

We climbed Mount Heha — the tallest mountain in Burundi! ⛰️🇧🇮

The walk brought together HIH members, tourists visiting from abroad, and members of our local community — all on the same trail, taking in the same fresh air and incredible views. 🌿

Getting out into nature like this is real self-care, good for the mind as much as the body. This is part of why we do walks like this: to discover new places, appreciate what Burundi has been blessed with, and remind ourselves that these hills and forests are a treasure we're holding onto for the next generation. Protecting them starts with all of us knowing what we have.

And there's something powerful about locals and visitors from abroad sharing a hike together — it's a small, real moment of connection and peace.

To everyone around the world watching this: come visit Burundi! Come see Mount Heha, the hills, the people. Every visitor is a small step toward peace — a chance to see the Great Lakes Region not through headlines, but through its beauty and its people.

Day 2 at UA/PANCOGEd 2 was incredible! 🎉🇧🇮
Our HIH team sat in sessions that truly moved us today:

Digital Literacy & Entrepreneurship for Girls — because the future economy belongs to those who are prepared for it.

From Classroom to Career: TVET & STEAM for African Girls — reimagining how education connects girls to real opportunities.

Reaching Girls Furthest from TVET and STEM — this one hit home. At Holistic Impact Hub, these are the girls we wake up for every day — refugee girls, returnee girls, girls in underserved communities across Burundi.

These sessions remind us that when we invest in girls' education, we invest in entire communities. We are grateful to be in this space, learning, connecting, and carrying these lessons back to the ground in Burundi.

The Holistic Impact Hub is officially at UA/PANCOGEd 2 — the African Union 2nd Pan-African Conference on Girls' and Women's Education, right here in Bujumbura, Burundi! 🌍

It's an incredible feeling to stand alongside world-class partners like the World Bank Group, United Nations, OXFAM, Plan International, Belgium, and so many more — all united around one powerful mission: advancing education and opportunity for girls and women across Africa.

This conference speaks directly to the heart of everything we do at Holistic Impact Hub. We are grateful, we are inspired, and we are ready to learn and grow alongside the best in the field.

What a journey! 🙌 Our HIH team just came back from an incredible Seminar for Leaders, full of lessons that touched both our minds and hearts.
We learned about:
