🔘The Church of Saint Simeon Stylites🔘
Or (Qalaat Semaan)

•Located on Aleppo, Syria.

•Completed in 490 CE, it is one of the world's oldest surviving Christian church complexes.

•It was built around the pillar where the famous ascetic monk Saint Simeon lived for 40 years.

•The complex blends Roman basilica traditions with early Byzantine design.

•It features a Cruciform Layout: Four basilicas radiate outward from a central octagonal courtyard, forming a cross shape.

•In May 2016, the historic site suffered extensive damage from an airstrike during the Syrian conflict.
