Kai and Kaya from Pirin have officially started their new life at the foot of Vitosha ♥️🐾
They left the shelter during the biggest downpour, but their wonderful adopters didn’t hesitate for a second. They arrived in their beautiful car with a white leather interior, wrapped the pups in blankets, dried them off, and held them close ♥️

Two stunning ladies with huge hearts adopted our little strays ♥️🐾
We’re over the moon — these babies will definitely be spoiled and loved 🐶🐼🐻

Respect to all of you who open your homes and hearts to homeless animals. You are true lifesavers!

Earlier in July, a mama dog and her five fluffy little ones were rescued from the busy road near Pirin Golf. Sadly, one puppy had already been hit by a car, but she’s now in a loving foster home recovering from a broken paw. The rest of the family was moved to a safe, rented space thanks to a very generous donor.

And now for the wonderful news! After lots of outreach and tireless effort, two of the puppies have been adopted together by amazing people in Sofia. A third pup is heading to Plovdiv tomorrow to join their new family.

We never rush adoptions or hand animals off lightly. Even when adopters are few, every candidate is carefully screened—we want to be sure each animal gets a safe home, kind humans, and regular updates. So when an adoption works out, we truly celebrate it.

Good luck, little ones, and may your new lives be full of love. 🐾💛

It’s been a busy month! I was out of the country for work and could only help remotely, so if I was slow replying to messages or emails, thank you for your patience. That 8‑hour time difference was no joke.

Now that I’m finally catching up, I want to start sharing some wonderful updates from our amazing volunteers—beginning with a heart‑melting story.

Meet Beatrice ❤️
This sweet young stray was caught near the cat sanctuary for spaying, and during her recovery we quickly realized she wasn’t just friendly… she adored people. It became clear she wasn’t meant to go back outside.

Even though our first posts didn’t get much attention (kitten season tends to steal the spotlight!), Beatrice kept telling us in her own way that she wanted a home. Every chance she got, she tried to sneak back inside instead of staying outdoors.

So we widened our search—and it worked. A lovely family in Germany fell in love with her.

Swipe to see Beatrice at the start of her long journey and then later, happily settling into her new home. We couldn’t be happier for this adorable calico. Wishing her endless love, comfort, and cuddles in her new life. 💕🐾

UPDATE: The kitten has been picked up by a wonderful family. Silvia Valdman, we couldn’t be more thankful! The kitten is extremely young and very vulnerable, but there is hope.

A nursing mother cat is needed! If you have one, please respond. We will support you in any way we can.

A visitor to the town has found a kitten that is only a few days old, which, according to her, had been crying alone in the sun all day. The woman is leaving Bansko tomorrow. She contacted us hoping we could take care of it. Unfortunately, raising a kitten without a mother requires resources we do not have.
At the moment we are short-staffed; I am out of the country for work, and my colleague cannot stay home long enough to care for a newborn. If anyone can help, now is the time.

Sonya and Tisha
We raised them from newborns—two of the sweetest and most friendly little souls. They are four months old and have received all their vaccines. They are trained to walk on a leash. They get along well with children, other dogs, and cats—the most loving and loyal little companions.

Rafaela — a very graceful and elegant 3-month old who is waiting for her person.
She is dewormed and has received her first vaccine.
She was lucky to survive after a volunteer rescued her from a dog’s jaws about three weeks ago.
Rafaela is a very sweet and social kitten. She will be deeply grateful for the care and attention of her future human.

Sunny is a rare little ginger girl who was found all alone a few weeks ago. Since then, she’s been safe at the sanctuary, but we have no idea what happened to her mom or siblings. She has the saddest, most timid eyes—but when you gently comfort her, she relaxes and starts to purr.
Sunny enjoys playing and gets along well with other kittens. Her best friend, Thumbelina, will soon be leaving for her new home, and we would really love to spare Sunny from being alone in her cage again. Time in a foster home could make a huge difference for her, helping her build confidence and learn to trust people.
We are committed to Sunny no matter how long it takes, but the reality is that after kitten season, there are hundreds of kittens waiting for homes, and finding the right one can take time. Sunny is dewarmed and has already had her first vaccination.

If you feel you could open your home to Sunny—or another kitten—even temporarily, please reach out to us. Building a strong, reliable foster network in Bansko will allow us to help more animals and give them a better chance at happy lives. We truly can’t do it without you.
