CanCare Antwerp is an organisation set up by a group of students located in Antwerp, Belgium. We go to the Antwerp International School and are raising money to fund cancer care in northern India. We are in immediate contact with Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, the second largest hospital in northern India. It is located in Jaipur, Rajasthan and run primarily by the Kothari Fam
ily. We will be funding three very essential projects.
1). The Dream Foundation - Similar to the Make a Wish, the Dream Foundation is a project that fulfil the many wishes of patients admitted to the hospital under the age of 20. These wishes often range from a large variety of things, but they always succeeds in bringing the patients huge amounts of joy. Whether it is a fun remote control car for a young child, or a water purifier that a thoughful teenager requested so her family can drink clean water, the dream foundation is consistent at keeping people happy.
2). The Donate a Life programme is made solely to pay for the treatment of underprivileged cancer blood cancer patients under the age of 14. Often children in developing areas are diagnosed with curable forms of blood cancer; but they are not always able to pay for them. This is why the Donate a Life programme is dedicated to saving the lives of children all over northern India. Raising approximately 7,000 euros would save the life of one of these children, and we plan to help out as many as we can.
3). Lastly, we would like to raise money to make the lives of the patients in the hospital as smooth as possible. This is why we have arranged gift baskets at the price of 7 euros that contain the essential items a patient, and their family would require in the hospital. Items of daily use that they might not generally be able to afford like toothbrushes, toothpastes, towels, and blankets will be provided to each patient in the hospital. We believe that these projects are extremely important, and hope you think so too. Children all over the world are suffering from serious cases of cancer. We want to inspire as many people as we can to help this cause and to help us put smiles back on the faces of the children and families who have been devastated by cancer.
