We work across disciplines and countries, combining diverse expertise to improve scientific rigor, harmonize SABV practices, and support long-term capacity building.

By integrating S*x as a Biological Variable into every stage of research, the EU-SABV COST Action is helping scientists build stronger, more trustworthy evidence.

Across Europe, researchers face gaps in SABV training, methodological support, and harmonized practices- challenges that limit reproducibility and comparability.

The EU-SABV COST Action is building the first multidisciplinary network dedicated to addressing these needs.

At EU-SABV Cost Action four pillars guide our work: Scientific rigor | Training | Networks | Advocacy.

Scientific rigor depends on study designs that reflect biological reality.

S*x influences physiology, disease mechanisms, and responses to interventions, yet it is still inconsistently considered in many research contexts.

The EU-SABV COST Action aims to change this by strengthening how S*x as a Biological Variable (SABV) is integrated into in vitro and in vivo studies.

By embedding SABV into experimental planning, analysis, and interpretation, we support research that is more reproducible, more transparent, and more capable of driving meaningful scientific and clinical progress.
