[ASEAN Youth Sustainability Summit 2025]

Building on the momentum of the successful ASEAN Youth Sustainability Camp 2024, this year, the Camp returns as the Summit with a new theme: “𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂 𝒊𝒏 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.”

The motivation for this theme lies in the profound wisdom and enduring resilience of Indigenous communities. For millennia, they’ve lived in harmony with their environments, developing intricate systems of knowledge through meticulous observation and sustainable practices. Research shows that 67% of Indigenous lands are ecologically healthier compared to 44% of other lands. Despite this critical contribution, Indigenous knowledge remains underappreciated and underutilized in mainstream climate strategies. Thus, investing in partnerships with Indigenous and local communities isn’t just about environmental protection; it’s about fostering fairness and equity.
