Minos Leuven is dé studentenvereniging voor debat rond de EU en andere Europese thema's. Samen met onze zustervereniging in Gent zetten we in op een samenkomst van allerlei visies door studenten op een kritische manier te laten nadenken over het Europees project. On May 11, Minos Leuven and Europea organized the EU Career Event, where Yannis Karamitsios, Pierre Pecheux, and Anneleen Vandeplas shared their professional experiences at EU institutions as a legal expert, lawyer, and economic analyst. Following the presentations, there was time for an extensive Q&A session, during which the many tips from the panelists were appreciated by the students.

We would like to thank all speakers for attending this event. We wish the audience the best of luck in their search for a European job! 🇪🇺

Op 11 mei organiseerden Minos Leuven en Europea het EU Career Event, waarin Yannis Karamitsios, Pierre Pecheux en Anneleen Vandeplas vertelden over hun professionele ervaringen bij EU instellingen als jurist, advocaat en economisch analist. Na de presentaties was er tijd voor een uitgebreide Q&A-sessie, waarbij de vele tips van de panelleden door de studenten geapprecieerd werden.

Event: Visit to the European External Action Service

Time: 13:30 – 16:00
Location: 9A Rond Point Schuman, 1046 Brussels, Belgium
Join us for an afternoon visit to the European External Action Service, where we’ll gain
insights into the institution’s role, decision-making processes, and current EU affairs. This is
a unique opportunity to experience the heart of EU policymaking up close.
In order to be eligible to join us for the visit, you will need to fill in this form. If you didn’t, you
can’t join us for the visit. Additionally, there is a cap of 30 people that can join.The
registrations are first-come, first-serve. We will let you know if you made the cut. If you did
not get a message, you did not make it. There will be a deadline until May the 31st (20:00)!
So be quick!
To assure us that you will be present, we will request you to transfer us a deposit of 20
euros. This deposit will be returned if we can confirm your presence at the event. If you were
not present, we will not return the deposit. If you did not make the cut, your deposit will be
returned.

Minos Leuven is proud to announce that it has recently co-founded the Network Of Diverse European Societies (NODES), an alliance of European student societies all across Europe. This alliance gives us the opportunity to exchange members and best practices, collaborate on joint projects, and further expand and professionalise, boosting Minos’ mission of informing and immersing students in the world of the European Union!

Current members are the European Union Society of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics 🇵🇱, the KSE EU Club of the Kyiv School of Economics 🇺🇦, Minos Leuven of KU Leuven 🇧🇪, the IE European Union Club of IE University Madrid 🇪🇸, the Hertie School futurEU Club of the Hertie School Berlin 🇩🇪, the UCL European Society of University College London 🇬🇧, and European Generation from Bocconi University Milan 🇮🇹 . We are looking forward to connecting and collaborating!

The first joint project is following soon, stay tuned for more information!

Last week, H.E. Max Valstar, Deputy Head of Mission of the Netherlands to Belgium, gave our yearly Ambassador's Lecture, in which he talked about a life in diplomacy and how current global geopolitics shapes his job. During the Q&A session, there was ample time for interaction with the audience, delving deeper into diplomatic topics of interest. The ambassador even gave tips and tricks to students considering a career in diplomacy.

We would like to thank the ambassador, co-organiser Kring Historia, and LOKO for their support. See you in the coming weeks for our last events of the academic year!
