🎉 Now published: the TEAM Learning Outcomes for Music Teacher Education in Europe!

How can music teacher education prepare future teachers for the challenges and opportunities of today's classrooms?

The newly published TEAM Learning Outcomes for Music Teacher Education in Europe offer a forward-looking reference framework designed to support high-quality classroom music teaching across Europe.
The publication includes:
🎼 A poster booklet with 25 learning outcome descriptors and explanatory background

🎶 Last week, MusiQuE had the pleasure of conducting a site visit at the Akademia Muzyczna im. Karola Lipińskiego we Wrocławiu in Poland.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to engage with the institution's leadership, staff, students, and stakeholders, and to gain deeper insight into its educational and artistic activities.

We would like to thank the entire team at academy for their warm welcome, openness, and constructive discussions throughout the visit.

👏 A special thank you also goes to our review team, Matthias Hemann, Ingrid Maria Hanken, Susanne van Els, Marijn Abbink and Patricia Torres for their expertise, dedication, and thoughtful contributions to the process.

W ubiegłym tygodniu mieliśmy przyjemność gościć zespół ekspertów MusiQuE – Music Quality Enhancement, europejskiej organizacji wspierającej rozwój i doskonalenie jakości kształcenia muzycznego na całym świecie.

▪️ prof. Matthias Hermann – Przewodniczący MusiQuE Review Team
▪️ prof. Ingrid Maria Hanken – Sekretarz MusiQuE Review Team
▪️ prof. Marijn Abbink
▪️ prof. Susanne van Els
▪️ mgr Basia Kowalczuk – Review and Communication Manager

✨ MusiQuE is pleased to announce the publication of its revised Standards for Music Schools and Pre-College Institutions 🎶🏫

Developed in 2024–2025, the new standards reflect the realities of music schools and pre-college education while remaining practical and accessible for institutions with different levels of experience in external quality assurance.

The renewed framework builds on existing MusiQuE standards, offering clearer structure and wording, and includes tailored guiding questions for both music schools and pre-college institutions within one shared framework. The revision was developed in close consultation with stakeholders, including AEC - European Association of Conservatoires, EAS - European Association for Music in Schools and European Music School Union 🤝, and was endorsed by the MusiQuE Board in November 2025.

📘 The standards are now available on the MusiQuE website as a practical tool supporting self-reflection, development and continuous quality enhancement. See here: https://musique-qe.eu/news/musique-revised-standards-for-music-school-and-pre-college-institutions/

We look forward to seeing institutions across Europe and beyond 🌍 use them to strengthen quality culture in music education ✨.

✨ This week, MusiQuE welcomed an external Review Panel as part of the process to renew its registration on the EQAR - European Quality Assurance Register.

During the three-day site visit, the panel conducted interviews with a wide range of MusiQuE stakeholders, including representatives from institutions and programmes reviewed by MusiQuE, MusiQuE Peer Reviewers, and representatives of national agencies that have collaborated with MusiQuE. Additionally, the panel met with representatives from MusiQuE’s four partner organisations—AEC - European Association of Conservatoires, European Music School Union (EMU), Pearle Live Performance Europe and EAS - European Association for Music in Schools—as well as other stakeholders, such as EPASA - European Performing Arts Students' Association

A heartfelt thank you to ENQA for organising this visit!

This week, MusiQuE (Music Quality Enhancement) has hosted a site visit in Brussels for a targeted review. ☑️

The principal aim of a targeted review is to provide agencies that have successfully undergone at least two full ESG reviews with an alternative way to assessing their compliance with the ESG. They strengthen the enhancement aspect, offering a shorter and more resource-mindful review process.
