Onze vijf sites, de Educatieve Dienst en de Dienst Herinnering bieden heel wat mogelijkheden om de geschiedenis van gewapende conflicten in België en daarbuiten tot leven te brengen in de klas.

At 103, Battle of Britain veteran John “Paddy” Hemingway remains the last of The Few, and now the Hurricane that carried him into his most terrifying flight is being rebuilt after 82 years underground. On August 26, 1940, his P3966 was struck by cannon fire, forcing Paddy to bail out at 18,000 feet, while the fighter plunged into Pitsea Marshes at around 400 mph, ripping off its wings and burying itself nearly 40 feet deep. Amazingly, when the wreck was finally recovered in 2019, its engine, eight Browning machine guns and control column were still there, waiting to tell the story of that day.

Jaguars lined up in Hangar 3 at RAF Cosford. These aircraft are used as part of Flight Line Operations Training, the final phase of the course that apprentice aircraft technicians complete prior to their graduation, and before they are posted to their first squadrons.
