European Microfinance Network is an international not-for-profit organisation, which promotes microfinance as a tool to fight social and economic exclusion; micro entrepreneurship, and self-employment. We support development of microfinance organisations through the dissemination of good practices and by improving the regulatory frameworks for microfinance, self-employment and microenterprises at

European and national levels. We envision a society in which all those who are financially and socially excluded have access to the full range of financial and complementary support services empowering them to start new ventures, consolidate existing businesses and finance personal needs that improve their lives.

We’re proud to announce that the Ready 4 Work Project has made significant advancements in addressing the skills gap and enhancing employability for individuals in Spain. Our initiative focuses on providing comprehensive training and support, tailored to meet the needs of the modern job market.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭:

- Positive changes in employment status observed
- Significant increase of 39 percentage points in permanent contract employment
- Unemployment rate among beneficiaries decreased by 35 percentage points

This session will put AI "on trial" to explore its role in delivering microfinance services. Participants will engage in arguments, present evidence, and debate how AI can be integrated into both financial and non-financial services, all while preserving the personalized, human-centered support that is fundamental to microfinance.

The session will ultimately consider where AI can add value, where human intervention remains essential, and how to strike the right balance to best serve microfinance beneficiaries.
