On , we are reflecting on three days of learning, collaboration, and connection at the Capacity Accelerator Seminar 3.0 in Munich, Germany.

From 7-9 October, researchers from the third cohort of the IBRO/Wellcome Trust Neuroscience Capacity Accelerator for Mental Health program ( ) came together for practical training and exchange on lived experience involvement, science communication, grant writing, data management, and leadership.

🤝 The seminar provided the participants an opportunity to strengthen their skills, share experiences, as well as build connections to accelerate their mental health research projects.

On this World Mental Health Day, we celebrate the researchers behind these NCAMH projects, as well as other projects and researchers working to advance mental health research around the world!

What happens when an IBRO-Dana Foundation Grant helps turn a creative idea into a resource for the next generation?

In Puerto Rico, Dr. Manuella Oliveira Yassa used her 2025 grantto create “Neurociencia en Arroz y Habichuelas” – a booklet that brings neuroscience closer to students by connecting brain science with familiar culture and everyday experiences.

In Notre Dame, Indiana, the March 2025 Brain Awareness Fair transformed a pop-up science museum into an opportunity for the community to explore brain science in an accessible, engaging way.

In 2025, the IBRO–Dana Foundation Brain Awareness Week Grant supported the GIN Program’s “Fueling Your Brain” project in Melbourne, Australia.

The project brought neuroscience to life through a fun, family-friendly experience, helping children discover how nutrition can affect brain function and mood.
