๐Ÿต Meet Nina

Nina is one of the 33 rescued chimpanzees who found safety at Chimp Eden.
Like many others, she was saved from illegal wildlife trade and captivity. Today, she finally has a home where she can live in safety, surrounded by other chimpanzees.

But this home now needs your helpโ€ผ๏ธ
Parts of the sanctuary urgently need renovation to continue providing a safe and caring environment for Nina and the other rescued chimpanzees.

๐Ÿ’š Your donation helps protect what matters most: their safety, their dignity, and their future.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Support this project via the King Baudouin Foundation link and benefit from a 30% tax reduction for donations of โ‚ฌ40 or more.

Together, we can make sure Chimp Eden remains a true sanctuary for those who have already lost so much.

๐ŸŒŠ World Ocean Day 2026

The ocean covers more than 70% of our planet, regulates our climate, produces much of the oxygen we breathe, supports incredible biodiversity, and sustains communities around the world. Yet it remains under increasing pressure.

This year's theme, "Strong Marine Protected Areas for Our Blue Planet," is a call to turn promises into action. ๐ŸŒ

World leaders have committed to protecting at least 30% of our oceans by 2030, including the High Seas; vast waters that cover nearly half of Earth's surface and play a critical role in the health of our planet.

But commitments alone are not enough. Turning ambition into action will require collaboration, accountability, and public engagement.

Now it's time to make it happen. By creating and strengthening Marine Protected Areas, we can restore ecosystems, protect wildlife, and build a healthier future for generations to come. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ ๐Ÿข

The ocean connects us all, whether we live by the coast or hundreds of miles inland. Its protection is a shared responsibility. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’š Follow us for inspiration and opportunities to act locally for nature. Every action matters!

Happy ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›

For seven incredible years Dr. Jane Goodall was the proud Patron of World Swift Day โ€” championing these extraordinary birds with the same passion she brought to every corner of the natural world. ๐Ÿ’™

Now, the torch passes to a legendary new Patron: Sir Brian May ๐ŸŽธ โ€” founding member of the band Queen, astrophysicist, and fierce advocate for wildlife.

But why Swifts? ๐ŸŒ These remarkable birds travel thousands of kilometres, spend almost their entire lives in the air, and return to our skies each year as a sign that summer has arrived. Yet their populations are in dramatic decline โ€” losing nesting sites and the insects they depend on. They need our help.

Here's what YOU can do:
๐Ÿ  Put up a Swift nest box
๐ŸŒฟ Support insect-friendly planting
๐Ÿ“ข Spread the word this June 7
๐Ÿ’š Donate to help us continue our actions for swifts
๐ŸŽฅ Watch Sir Brian May's full video message on
https://www.worldswiftday.org/

Tag someone who loves Swifts just as much as Brian May and "Swifts Without Frontiers" ๐Ÿ‘‡ and help us celebrate on June 7!

World Environment Day 2026 - Now For Climate!

The planet is speaking to us. Through rising temperatures, wildfires, droughts, melting glaciers, and extreme weather, nature is sending clear signals and itโ€™s on us to listen to her. We said 1.5ยฐC was the limit. We are crossing it.

But there is hope. Around the world, people are restoring forests ๐ŸŒณ, embracing renewable energy โ˜€๏ธ, protecting ecosystems ๐Ÿพ, and proving that change is possible.

This World Environment Day is a reminder that climate action is for all of us. Through the choices we make, the voices we raise, and the future we choose to build together. ๐ŸŒฑ

โœจ The Earth is sending us an urgent message. The question is: how will we answer?

For too long, we've lived as if we were separate from nature, taking more than we give back.
Yet we remain entirely dependent on healthy ecosystems for our food, water, air, and well-being. ๐Ÿ’š

Reconnecting with nature means rethinking how we live. It means choosing lifestyles that work with the environment, not against it. It means remembering that we are part of a larger web of life, one that supports us every day and that we must support in return. ๐ŸŒฑ

Nature thrives on balance. If we want a sustainable future, it's time to restore that balance through the choices we make, the habits we adopt, and the respect we show for the living world around us.

Because saving the planet starts with remembering that we belong to it. ๐ŸŒโœจ

Dr. Jane Goodall taught us that each of us makes a difference every single day. In her honor, we're kicking off a 365 Days of Compassion challenge, and we're inviting you to join.

How it works: Each month, we'll post a list of small actions you can take throughout the month to spread compassion in your community and help people, other animals, and the environment. ๐Ÿ’š

Then, if you'd like, you can share stories of your impact on social media using the hashtag and tagging us so that you can inspire others.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด Meet Vladiana Petฤƒrlecean!

Vladiana recently joined the Communications team as a volunteer, bringing both a writer's eye and a forester's soul. Born and raised in Transylvania, where she discovered her soft spot for evergreens, and having spent nearly a decade in the forests and countryside of southern Germany, she has a deep, rooted (pun intended) love for the outdoors and trees. ๐ŸŒณ

In recent years, she has grown increasingly concerned about climate change and the loss of ecosystems. Dr Goodall's message of hope and individual action felt personal and inspired her to join us (and do her bit for the evergreens). ๐Ÿ€

Vladiana looks forward to getting her hands in the soil during tree planting campaigns, and to contributing to JGI's communications, advocacy, and fundraising work. ๐ŸŒฑ
She recently attended her first event and found exactly what she was looking for: a warm, committed team and a shared sense of purpose. ๐Ÿ’š

We participated last Saturday in the Triodos Festival for their clients and partners with an information stand and a presentation. Triodos is a sustainable bank that supports our project on pollinators. ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒธ

We had many interested visitors at our stand and lots of positive reactions about our presentation on Jane Goodall Institute Belgium and Roots & Shoots activities.

Thank you to our volunteers Vladiana and Viktoriia for helping us and Triodos Bank - Banque Triodos for inviting us! ๐Ÿ’š
