Our participants have already arrived in Kraków, and the planning team is putting the finishing touches on the preparations to ensure everything is ready for an inspiring and enriching learning experience.

PHC26: Sharing the Best We Have — Faith, Community, Mission 💙🤝 | Our journey together continues. ✨

Our days together with Primary school leaders in Ariccia and Rome have come to an end, but the journey continues 👣

As Jesuit educators, we gathered in Italy 🇮🇹 to reflect on what unites us: our faith, our communities and the mission entrusted to us. We shared experiences, listened to one another and explored how we can continue to offer the best of ourselves to the young people in our care.

Our final pilgrimage to Rome brought these days to a special close. Celebrating Mass at the Church of the Gesù 🙏 and visiting the Rooms of St Ignatius reminded us of the spiritual roots of our mission and the inspiration we continue to draw from St Ignatius.

As we return to our schools and communities, may we carry this experience with us — allowing it to deepen our faith, strengthen our bonds and renew our commitment to educating for life and for a better world.

Because our gathering may be over, but our shared mission continues.

Thank you to everyone who walked this journey with us. 💙

PHC26: Sharing the Best We Have — Faith, Community, Mission 💙🤝 | Day 4

Our gathering of Jesuit Primary School Heads in Ariccia has come to an end!

On our final day, we made a pilgrimage to Rome, where we celebrated our closing Mass at the Church of the Gesù and visited places connected with the life and spirituality of St Ignatius. A special highlight was our visit to the **Rooms of St Ignatius (Camere di Sant’Ignazio)** — a truly memorable moment for our group.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make these days so meaningful:

PHC26 | Sharing the Best We Have: Faith, Community, Mission 🙏🤝
Day 3

After two days focused on faith and mission, on the third day of our conference in Ariccia, we brought everything together around our third theme: community.

Our faith and interior life are not just private matters. Our personal growth and encounter with God are meant to lead us towards others, helping us build communities rooted in faith, trust and a shared sense of mission. 💙

Together with Fr José Olea SJ, we explored two important practices promoted throughout the works of the Society of Jesus: spiritual conversation and communal discernment. Through a plenary presentation and practical work in small groups, we reflected on how these practices can help strengthen community in our schools.

How can spiritual conversation help us listen more deeply to one another? How can communal discernment help us become leaders who involve our school communities in decision-making and enable us to grow together in the Spirit?
These were some of the questions we explored during our day in Ariccia. 🌍✨

We ended the day by meeting in our national groups to discuss how we could bring what we had learned back to our own contexts and schools. We then came together for the Examen, taking time to reflect on and evaluate our conference experience, recognise what we had learned and consider how we might carry it forward.

And then, as every evening, it was time for informal conversations, laughter and connection — celebrating the joy of being part of the JECSE network community and strengthening our sense of belonging. 🤝💙

🌎🙏 PHC26 | Sharing the Best We Have: Faith, Community, Mission I Day 2

Our second day began with Anne-Marie and Christine from the French Province, who shared their insights on “Interiority: Leading with Our Whole Being” and guided us through a time of reflection and prayer to begin the day. ❤️🧠

In the afternoon, Francisco from the JECSE team invited us to pause and reflect on spirituality—and, in particular, on our own spiritual lives—through the lens of some Ignatian keys.

Where do prayer and spirituality find space in our mission as school leaders and teachers? How do they shape the way we accompany others? 🚗

It was a beautiful day filled with personal prayer, small-group sharing and Mass, as we tried to create more time and space to listen to God’s voice in our lives and in our mission. ☀️

We ended the day with joyful sharing of the best we had brought from home to eat together, followed by games, laughter and conversations. A beautiful reminder that community is also built through simple moments of sharing, joy and being together. 💙

PHC26 | Sharing the Best We Have: Faith, Community, Mission 🌍🙏 I Day 1

On the first day of our conference for Primary School Heads in Ariccia, we were warmly welcomed 🫶 by the Euro-Mediterranean Province.

Fr Nicola Bordogna SJ opened our meeting with a reflection on what it means to be a Jesuit school head today. He reminded us that this role is much more than a job — it is a mission and a responsibility to the whole school community.

🤩 It was a joyful day of reconnecting with colleagues from across Europe, engaging in our first small-group discussions, reflecting together on the challenges we face as mission leaders in our post-secular world, sharing moments of prayer, and enjoying time together around the table. 🤝🙏🍽️

It was a wonderful beginning to our conference — a time of encounter, reflection, prayer, and celebration together.

A heartfelt thank you to the Euro-Mediterranean Province for the warm welcome in Italy! 🇮🇹 We wish all participants fruitful discussions and a meaningful time together. We will continue to share highlights and reflections from our conference as it unfolds. 💙

SHARING THE BEST WE HAVE: FAITH, COMMUNITY, MISSION

❔❔ What does it mean to be a Catholic school in the 21st century? How do we form communities that are grounded in the Gospel and Ignatian tradition, while welcoming students and staff of all beliefs and backgrounds? These are just a few of the questions that, in this rapidly changing world, call Jesuit schools to reimaging how to live their mission: not only in words, but in the daily life of communities.

📆 From October 6th to October 9th, Heads of Jesuit Primary Schools from all over Europe have joined us near the beautiful Albano lake in Ariccia (Rome) 🇮🇹 to enjoy some time together and to pause, reflect, and re-engage with the essential questions of our mission.
