Personalised cancer care depends on understanding why treatments work for some people but not for others.

In our Biomarker Leaders series, we're highlighting the experts behind the IMPACT-CRC project and the research that is helping advance immunotherapy for people with colorectal cancer.

By identifying biomarkers, measurable biological characteristics that can help predict who is most likely to benefit from treatment, IMPACT-CRC aims to reduce unnecessary side effects and enable more patients to access effective therapies.

Today, we feature Prof. Filippo Pietrantonio from Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น . He is a medical oncologist specialising in colorectal cancer and immunotherapy. As part of the IMPACT-CRC consortium, he and his team apply their extensive clinical expertise from patient care and clinical trials, helping to connect research findings with real-world treatment decisions and advance more personalised treatment approaches for patients.
