Today we helped co-organise the Circular in Action: -Powered Tools for Transition at Scale conference, marking the culmination of the CircularPSP programme! The event brought together city representatives, policymakers, researchers and innovation experts to explore how artificial intelligence can accelerate the transition to a circular economy! 🏙️ ♻️

Participants also experienced live demonstrations of the CircOS and CircularAI platforms, heard first-hand experiences from cities that piloted the solutions, and took part in discussions on the opportunities and challenges of scaling AI-powered tools across Europe! 👏 👏 👏

Many thanks to all the presenters for sharing their expertise through such outstanding presentations! And the panel discussion on enabling wider adoption through policy, procurement, funding and networking opportunities that fostered knowledge exchange and future collaboration! 🤝

Today we organised the "Closing the Automation Gap: for Textile Handling in – Contributing to Competitiveness" event alongside our partners: the Jozef Stefan Institute, the Karlsruhe Institute Of Technology (KIT), and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) at the CSIC Brussels Office! 🤖🧵 We discussed how and automation can strengthen the competitiveness of Europe’s sector, addressing the challenges of handling deformable materials while supporting ♻️ circularity and 🌱 sustainability goals!

The event showcased the ROMANDIC White Book on textile manipulation, highlighted innovative projects such as 🚀 ROMANDIC, SoftEnable, Tornado, and Flexcycle, and explored the role of robotics within the 🇪🇺 EU’s Circular Economy and Industry 5.0 agendas! 🎤 Participants also heard perspectives on market needs and barriers to adoption, celebrated the launch of a new European Network of Excellence for Textile Robotics 🎉, and exchanged views on the future of 🤖 automation, ♻️ recycling, and 📈 competitiveness in the European textile industry!

Last week, with the help of SBRA, the delegation from the Municipality of Velenje/Mestna občina Velenje traveled to Brussels to showcase their -funded projects at the European Sustainable Energy Week ( )! Organised by the European Commission, EUSEW is the biggest annual event dedicated to and efficient use in ! It brings together policymakers, experts, stakeholders, and citizens to debate policy developments, share best practices, and drive the transition towards a -neutral continent!

At Velenje's stand, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the ZERO MOVE project, which is creating a for reducing emissions and fast-tracking climate neutrality. The initiative highlights how small and medium-sized can actively contribute to Europe’s climate objectives while creating , more accessible, and sustainable environments. Furthermore, visitors were able to test Mission Zero Move, an interactive game allowing participants to calculate the footprint of their journey to Brussels and compare the environmental impacts of different transport choices! The stand was well-visited, providing the team with a good opportunity to network with potential partners and promote their projects!

The Municipality of Velenje/Mestna občina Velenje is a true driver of change and we’re happy to announce they will be participating in the European Sustainable Energy Week ( ) 2026 Energy Fair! ⚡

Projects that you’ll be able to explore include:
🌍 ZERO MOVE (Horizon Europe / NetZeroCities Enabling City Transformation Programme): By uniting Pécs, Velenje, and Cluj-Napoca, this project is creating a blueprint for reducing and fast-tracking neutrality.
🌍 At the stand, you’ll be able to participate in Mission Zero Move; a game allowing participants to calculate the footprint of their journey to Brussels and compare the impact of different transport choices.
🌍 EVA, a user-friendly platform designed to help households analyse and optimise their consumption. EVA supports residents in planning energy renovations, identifying energy saving measures, reducing costs and lowering CO₂ emissions.

🌍 🌱 🚀 We're excited to see taking an important step toward a -neutral future by joining the international project IPPCP – Platform for Carbon Neutral Cities!

In collaboration with and leading European partners, the city is helping to build a next-generation public–private data space designed to transform how climate data is collected, shared, and used. Funded by the Digital Europe Programme under the “Data Spaces for Smart Communities” initiative (European Data Space for Smart Communities / DS4SSCC), the €2.5 million project has been running since May 2025 and is scheduled to conclude in August 2026!

It is led by the City of , with a strong consortium that includes Ljubljana, Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Geospatiumlab, and d.o.o.!
