The Ergonomics Society of SUST [ESS] proudly congratulates our esteemed Founding Advisor, Prof. Dr. Engr. Mohammad Iqbal, on being appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Occupational Safety Board Bangladesh (OSSB). 💚

Currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of North East University Bangladesh and on lien from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sir has been a guiding force behind the vision and foundation of ESS. From nurturing the culture of ergonomics at SUST to inspiring students to engage with real-world challenges of safety, productivity, and human-centered design, his impact remains deeply embedded in our journey.

With over 30 years of excellence in academia, research, and industry, and contributions spanning ergonomics, industrial safety, and risk management, his appointment to this prestigious role is both well-deserved and deeply inspiring for all of us. As his students and mentees, we take immense pride in this achievement and remain grateful for his continuous guidance and support.

We wish him continued success in this new role and hope his leadership further strengthens the landscape of occupational safety in Bangladesh. 💚

On this Victory Day, 16 December, we honor the indomitable spirit of a nation that rose from oppression to freedom through unparalleled sacrifice and courage. The red and green of our flag are not mere colors, they are the living testament of blood shed and dreams realized. Our victory was born from resilience, unity, and an unyielding belief in justice. As inheritors of this hard-earned freedom, we carry the responsibility to uphold the values of integrity, equality, and progress that defined our Liberation War. May the spirit of 1971 continue to guide our conscience and shape a Bangladesh worthy of its victory.

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we mourn the deliberate and brutal silencing of a nation’s finest minds: teachers, thinkers, writers, and professionals who were abducted, tortured, and killed in the final days of our Liberation War.

Their martyrdom was not random; it was a calculated attempt to cripple the conscience and future of a free Bangladesh.

Yet, even in death, they could not be erased. Their courage, intellect, and sacrifice remain woven into the foundation of our nation, reminding us that f𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 and must be guarded with unwavering responsibility.

From all of us at 𝐄𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐔𝐒𝐓 [ESS], on this Bijoya Dashami, as the idols are immersed and the Shorodiyo Durga Puja comes to its heartfelt conclusion, we pause to reflect on the bonds that tie our community together. Bishorjon is not just an ending; it is a reminder of renewal, reconciliation, and the strength found in unity.

As we bid farewell to the goddess’s presence, let us also let go of the divisions, fears, and negativity that linger within ourselves and in our surroundings. This day invites us to embrace empathy, cultivate understanding, and foster a community where every individual feels valued and supported.

May the spirit of Shorodiyo Durga Puja inspire us to act with courage, integrity, and kindness in our daily lives. From all of us at ESS, we send our heartfelt wishes to our community for a reflective, harmonious, and uplifting Bijoya Dashami. 💚🌸
