Green Roots Project | Community Action Day – 03 🌱

As part of the Green Roots Project, Savar YMCA successfully conducted Community Action Day – 03 on 6 June 2026 in Dewgaon, Savar, with the objective of promoting environmental sustainability and strengthening community engagement.

The program commenced with a special observance of the birth anniversary of Sir George Williams, Founder of YMCA, followed by the official inauguration of the environmental campaign through a symbolic tree plantation ceremony.

Key Achievements:
🌿 31 saplings planted in community and public spaces
🌿 20 local families provided with saplings for plantation
🌿 26 volunteers actively engaged in the initiative
🌿 Environmental awareness sessions conducted with local residents
🌿 Increased community participation in environmental conservation efforts

This initiative not only contributed to expanding green coverage but also fostered greater environmental awareness, community ownership, and a shared commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future.

🌱 Green Roots Project | Action Day 3 🌱

Edilpur YMCA Green Team successfully celebrated Green Action Day 3 with enthusiasm and community participation.

From a drawing competition for children on the theme of World Environment Day 2026, to tree plantation, creative reuse of plastic bottles, and a clean-up campaign — every activity reflected our commitment to building a greener and cleaner future.

Together, we are inspiring environmental awareness, encouraging sustainable practices, and taking meaningful action for our planet. 💚🌍

Youth in Action for a Greener Tomorrow! 🌳

✨On May 23, 2026, Kaligram YMCA successfully organized a Tree Plantation Program for Climate Action Day - 02 at Kaligram Monimohan Full Gospel Church Model High School.

*40 young volunteers (16 girls & 24 boys) actively joined the drive.
*25 diverse saplings (fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal) were planted.Led by President Mr. Lipton Bairagi to inspire environmental preservation.
*A joint youth committee will handle the regular maintenance of the trees.

🌱 2nd Green Action Day | Edilpur YMCA 🌍

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the Green Team of Edilpur YMCA successfully organized the “2nd Green Action Day” under the Green Roots Project with the active participation of youth volunteers, students, teachers, and community members. ♻️

The day started with an environmental awareness session at Bokarbaid Government Primary School, where students learned about the harmful effects of plastic pollution, climate change, and the importance of proper waste management and environmental responsibility. 📚🌿

To encourage a greener future, fruit trees were planted together with the students in the school premises. 🌳✨

Later, the Green Team conducted a plastic waste clean-up campaign around the Union Parishad and nearby market areas, promoting cleaner surroundings and responsible waste disposal practices within the community. 🧹💚

32 dedicated volunteers came together to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and responsible waste management within the community. 💚

From awareness sessions to cleaning public spaces, the initiative successfully created a cleaner, healthier, and greener environment for local residents, shopkeepers, and daily road users. 🌍✨
