IEEE RUET RAS Student Branch Chapter, in co-organization with the Robotic Society of RUET (RSR), is pleased to announce the successful completion of the two-day workshop titled βIoT Fundamentals: Creating Your First Connected Deviceβ. The workshop was designed to provide participants with a strong foundational understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies through hands-on learning and guided instruction.
Over the span of two-day sessions, participants gained practical knowledge of the ESP32 microcontroller, covering its core features, internal architecture, and real-world applications. The workshop also introduced Blynk platform integration, enabling participants to develop and control connected devices through mobile-based interfaces. In addition, participants were trained in relay switching techniques, allowing them to control electrical appliances as part of IoT-based systems. A detailed discussion on the architectural design of the ESP32 further strengthened their conceptual understanding.
To encourage collaborative learning and practical implementation, participants were divided into four groups, each assigned a group project titled βHome Automation using IoTβ. Each group successfully designed and demonstrated their project by integrating the concepts learned during the workshop, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and technical competence.
Following the completion of the group projects, a quiz competition was organized to assess participantsβ understanding of the workshop content and to conclude the event on an engaging and interactive note.
We, IEEE RUET Student Branch and the Robotic Society of RUET (RSR) would like to express our sincere appreciation to all participants, instructors, mentors, and volunteers whose dedication and active involvement contributed to the successful ex*****on of the workshop. Furthermore we would like to appreciate the collaborative efforts of both organizing bodies played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth planning and impactful outcome of βIoT Fundamentals: Creating Your First Connected Device.β
