🐾 A Small Story About Our Hostel Cats 🐾
Cats have always been a part of our society—graceful, playful, and full of little mischiefs that brighten our darkest days. They don’t ask for much, just a bit of love and maybe a handful of food. But sadly, I’ve seen with my own eyes how some of these innocent souls are treated cruelly.
In our girls’ hostel, a few cats wander around. Hungry, they often peek into the dustbins or look at us with their wide, innocent eyes, silently hoping we’ll share something with them. While some of us feed them with love, others chase them away with sticks or brooms—and sometimes even hit them. The fear in their eyes is heartbreaking.
Whenever I can, I give them food. But because they are born outside and not trained, they sometimes create a mess in the washroom. Instead of finding a solution, many girls blame me for feeding them. Some even wanted to pack them up and throw them far away.
To save them, a few of us decided to act. We shifted two of the cats to a foster home on a monthly payment system. It’s been one and a half months now—they are safe, loved, and living the life they deserve. We visit them whenever possible, and seeing them happy fills our hearts with peace. But continuing their expenses is tough for us.
Still, in our hostel, other cats remain. I try to feed them, and sometimes they curl up to sleep in my room. They are innocent creatures—unable to speak or defend themselves when hurt.
✨ My humble request: If you see cats or any animal around you, please be kind. If you cannot feed them, at least don’t hurt them. Compassion costs nothing, but it can change their entire world.
