Nature Conservation Management (NACOM) is the pioneer, non-government, pro-environment organization in Bangladesh, founded in 1987 with the mandate of activities in the area of natural resources management and livelihood development. Our mission is to engage in activities to ensure protection of nature while empowering local communities. Its mandates relate to biodiversity conservation, sustainabl
e development, climate change adaptation, poverty alleviation and sustainable natural resource management through research, information exchange and undertaking conservation activities. We have a dedicated team including highly experienced and skilled members and have a good linkage with government departments and ministries. NACOM’s multidisciplinary team consists of professionals in the fields of natural resource survey and management, ecological and social assessment, environmental education and training, environmental impact assessment with a lot of experience in livelihood and community development and people’s participation. NACOM has good excellent capacity for promoting innovative ideas and approaches in project design and setting implementation strategies. We have a long and successful record for implementing government and donor funded projects focusing on natural resource management and biodiversity conservation involving local communities
Our organization has working experiences throughout Bangladesh including Cox’s Bazar, Mymensigh, Gazipur, Manikgonj, Noakhali, Dinajpur, Khulna, Sylhet, Sunamgonj, Habugonj and Moulvi Bazar district. NACOM undertook and completed a number of projects in wildlife assessment and management, biodiversity conservation, participatory resource and ecosystems management, wetlands/floodplain resource management, fisheries management, sustainable livelihood, awareness creation, environmental training, floral and faunal and other ecological surveys etc. and gained a huge experience in the renewable natural resource management and related areas.
