ARPA A Social Service and Human Resource Development Oriented Voluntary Non Government Organization ARPA has been working relentlessly to reduce poverty since 2009.

Association for Rural Peoples Advancement (ARPA) is the name of the organization. It is a Non-Profitable, Non-Government, Voluntary and Social Organization for the service of poor majority of the rural areas of the country. The north-western districts of the country are poorer than the other districts. The formal banking sector in our country is developing. But they didn’t provide financial servic

es to the poor. This sector concentrates on large loans to the high income group, thereby completely excluding low income group. The microfinance movement, however, has shown that there is a thriving market among the poor when financial products cater to their specific needs. The poor are a quite active group in any economy. ARPA has shown that their needs can be met while at the same time making the institution profitable as well. Due to this, the people of these areas are socio-economically in bad condition. Illiteracy, Unemployment, Unawareness, Mal-nutrition and Unhealthy situation are prevailing all over the areas. As a result, majority of the people live in below living standard. Besides, the gender situation is also not good due to social mal-practices. Majority of the women section are abused and tortured mentally and physically. On the other side, most of the children are mal-nourished and sometimes become victims of trafficking and child labor. By observing and understanding all the above stated miserable conditions and realities several enthusiastic, energetic and social minded young men came forward to volunteer their services for the needy people and established an Organization named “Association for Rural peoples Advancement (ARPA)” as on September 2009. On 24 November 2025, the “Somotol Adivasi Conference 2025” was successfully organized at the Natore District Council Auditorium.
The event was jointly arranged by “Amrai Pari” Alliance for Prevention of Family Violence and several local civil society organizations, including ARPA, NIDA Society, LASTER, PKSS, Bachte Chai, MMS, BREAD, and SDKSS.

The conference brought together community leaders, activists, and indigenous representatives to discuss rights, challenges, and the way forward for the plains Adivasi communities.

It was an inspiring platform for raising voices, sharing experiences, and strengthening collective efforts toward equality, justice, and cultural preservation.

Together, we stand for dignity, inclusion, and the empowerment of all indigenous communities.

Let’s continue working for a fair and just society for everyone.
