Highlighting the critical role of youth in protecting the environment and biodiversity, Sustainer's Nest successfully conducted a special environmental workshop titled "BEYOND THE GREEN" on October 15 at the Fatullah Pilot High School premises! 🗓️🌿🏫

The primary focus of the "Beyond the Green" workshop was biodiversity conservation. 🐞🌸 Through interactive sessions and engaging group activities, students gained a practical and accessible understanding of ecosystems, protecting natural habitats of various species, and the importance of maintaining ecological balance.
🏞️ The students of Fatullah Pilot High School enthusiastically participated in every awareness-building activity. 🙌✨

A truly special moment of the event was the honored presence of two distinguished international guests from Korea! 🇰🇷🤝 They observed the creative workshop with great interest and warmly praised this initiative aimed at empowering youth for biodiversity conservation. 👏🎉

With a strong commitment to safeguarding nature and biodiversity for a sustainable future, Sustainer's NEST remains dedicated to organizing more constructive workshops like "Beyond the Green" in the days ahead. 🌏🌱

পরিবেশ ও জীববৈচিত্র্য সুরক্ষায় তরুণদের ভূমিকার ওপর গুরুত্ব দিয়ে Sustainer's Nest-এর উদ্যোগে গত ১৫ অক্টোবর ফতুল্লা পাইলট হাই স্কুল প্রাঙ্গণে সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হলো বিশেষ পরিবেশ বিষয়ক ওয়ার্কশপ "BEYOND THE GREEN"! 🗓️🌿🏫

এই "Beyond the Green" ওয়ার্কশপের মূল আলোচনার বিষয় ছিল জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণ। 🐞🌸 ইন্টারেক্টিভ বিভিন্ন সেশন ও গ্রুপ অ্যাক্টিভিটির মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীদের আমাদের বাস্তুতন্ত্র, বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির প্রাকৃতিক আবাস্থল রক্ষা এবং পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখার গুরুত্ব সহজ ও ব্যবহারিক উপায়ে বুঝিয়ে দেওয়া হয়।

🏞️ ফতুল্লা পাইলট হাই স্কুলের শিক্ষার্থীরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সাথে এই সচেতনতামূলক সেশনগুলোতে অংশ নেয়। 🙌✨
অনুষ্ঠানে এক বিশেষ সম্মানীয় মুহূর্ত ছিল কোরিয়া থেকে আগত দুইজন সম্মানিত আন্তর্জাতিক অতিথির উপস্থিতি! 🇰🇷🤝 তারা অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থেকে জীববৈচিত্র্য নিয়ে আমাদের তরুণদের এই সৃজনশীল ওয়ার্কশপটি অত্যন্ত আগ্রহের সাথে পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন এবং আয়োজনের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন। 👏🎉

​Over 500 young climate leaders from 28 countries gathered at BRAC University, Dhaka for the Regional Conference of Youth (RCOY APAC 2026)—and Team SustainersNest was thrilled to be there!

​Representing Sustainers Nest, our delegates participated in interactive consultations across five key thematic areas, contributing directly to the Regional Youth Statement ahead of COP31.

​Through hands-on policy engagement, interactive team challenges, and cultural exchange, the conference highlighted the power of youth-driven climate solutions across the Asia-Pacific.

🌿 Chasing Green — সবুজের পথে, পরিবর্তনের প্রত্যয়ে 🌿

একটি সুন্দর ও টেকসই ভবিষ্যৎ গড়ে তুলতে প্রয়োজন সচেতনতা ও সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগ। পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণ এবং দৈনন্দিন জীবনে ছোট ছোট ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনের গুরুত্ব নিয়ে গত ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর Aliganj High School-এর প্রায় ২১৩ জন শিক্ষার্থীকে নিয়ে Sustainers NEST আয়োজন করেছে বিশেষ কর্মশালা “Chasing Green”। 🌎

পরিবর্তন একদিনে আসে না; এর শুরু আমাদের প্রত্যেকের ছোট ছোট পদক্ষেপ থেকে। আসুন, একসাথে সবুজের পথে হাঁটি। সবুজের সন্ধানে, পরিবর্তনের প্রত্যয়ে—সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগেই হোক আমাদের পৃথিবীর সুরক্ষা। 🌱

Building a sustainable future takes awareness and direct, collective action. To highlight the importance of environmental conservation and everyday eco-friendly practices, Sustainers NEST hosted the “Chasing Green” workshop on September 28 for around 213 amazing students at Aliganj High School. 🌎

Real change starts with our individual choices. Let's walk the green path together—chasing green, creating change, and safeguarding our planet through collective action. 🌱

জলাভূমি হলো প্রকৃতির সবচেয়ে বিস্ময়কর যাত্রার প্রাণকেন্দ্র। প্রতি বছর কোটি কোটি পরিযায়ী পাখির দীর্ঘ যাত্রাপথে খাবার, সুপেয় পানি এবং নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ের জোগান দেয় এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বাস্তুতন্ত্র। স্বাস্থ্যকর জলাভূমির অভাব দেখা দিলে অসংখ্য প্রজাতির পাখি বিলুপ্তির ঝুঁকিতে পড়বে।
​বিশ্বসেরা ম্যানগ্রোভ সুন্দরবন থেকে শুরু করে উত্তর-পূর্বাঞ্চলের হাওর ও বিল—বাংলাদেশের অনন্য জলাভূমিগুলো প্রতি বছর অসংখ্য অতিথি পাখির নিরাপদ আবাসস্থল হিসেবে কাজ করে। আসুন, আমাদের অতিথি পাখিদের নিরাপদ আশ্রয় নিশ্চিত করতে এই জলাভূমিগুলোকে সংরক্ষণ ও পুনরুজ্জীবিত করি! 🌏

​Wetlands are the beating heart of nature’s most incredible journeys. These vital ecosystems provide crucial stopover sites, rich feeding grounds, and safe shelters for millions of migratory birds each year. Without healthy wetlands, countless bird species face severe population declines and the threat of extinction.
​As a global refuge—from the vast, muddy flats of the Sundarbans to the freshwater Haors and Beels—Bangladesh plays an indispensable role along the Asian migratory flyways. Let’s protect and restore these critical wetlands to ensure our feathered travelers always have a place to rest and thrive! 🌏

Today, as we celebrate the Founder's Day of SustainersNEST, we look back at a journey built on a simple yet powerful belief– "Change begins with a seed of intention."

Through Seeds of Change Artists, Planting For The Future, Chasing Green, and Trash to Treasure, we have carried that belief beyond words, reaching 1,000+ students and growing a community of 300+ dedicated volunteers who continue to turn purpose into action.

Every project has been a seed.
Every volunteer, a force of change.
Every student reached, a glimpse of the future we hope to build.

Here’s to the roots that hold us, the people who nurture us, and the greener, brighter future we continue to chase together.

নবীনগর সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে দৈনন্দিন বর্জ্য পরিণত হলো খাঁটি সম্পদে! 🎨✨✂️

সাসটেইনার্স নেস্ট-এর সাথে আমাদের 'Trash To Treasure' বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা ও রিসাইক্লিং ওয়ার্কশপের ২য় পর্যায় দুর্দান্ত সাফল্য লাভ করেছে! গত মঙ্গলবার, নবীনগর সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের উৎসুক শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের ক্লাসরুমেই চমৎকার সব পরিবেশবান্ধব ভাবনাকে বাস্তব রূপ দিয়েছে।

দলবদ্ধভাবে কাজ করে এই খুদে পরিবেশপ্রেমীরা গৃহস্থালির সাধারণ বর্জ্য—যেমন টিস্যু রোল, প্লাস্টিকের বোতল, অ্যালুমিনিয়ামের ক্যান, আইসক্রিমের বক্স এবং কার্ডবোর্ড—একত্র করে সেগুলো থেকে সুন্দর ও ব্যবহারযোগ্য জিনিস তৈরি করেছে। রঙিন কলমদানি থেকে শুরু করে দারুণ সব ডেস্ক অর্গানাইজার, তাদের সৃজনশীলতা আমাদের সত্যি মুগ্ধ করেছে! 🏆🌱

তারা আমাদের মূলমন্ত্রটি চমৎকারভাবে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছে:

Turning everyday trash into absolute treasure at Nabinagar Government Primary School! 🎨✨✂️

Phase 2 of our "Trash To Treasure" Waste Management & Recycling Workshop with Sustainers NEST was a massive success! This past Tuesday, the eager students at Nabinagar Government Primary School brought their brightest eco-friendly ideas to life directly in their classrooms.

Teaming up in their groups, these young environmental champions gathered common household waste—like tissue rolls, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, ice cream tubs, and cardboard—and upcycled them into beautiful, practical crafts. From vibrant pen stands to clever desk organizers, their creativity was truly inspiring to witness! 🏆🌱
They perfectly captured the spirit of our motto:

📣 "Trash কে করো Treasure, পরিবেশের নাই কোনো Pressure!"

A huge thank you to all the brilliant students and supportive teachers at Nabinagar Government Primary School for their outstanding teamwork and vibrant energy. You’ve shown us all that with a dash of imagination, waste can find a beautiful new purpose! 💚

আজ বিশ্ব গণ্ডার দিবস!!!!!

আমাদের প্রকৃতির এক সময়ের অনন্য প্রাণীদের স্মরণ করা এবং বর্তমান জীববৈচিত্র্য রক্ষার তাগিদ অনুভবের এক দিন। ঊনবিংশ শতাব্দীর শেষ ও বিংশ শতাব্দীর শুরুতেও বাংলাদেশে তিন প্রজাতির গণ্ডার—ভারতীয় একশৃঙ্গ, জাভা এবং সুমাত্রীয় গণ্ডার মুক্তভাবে বিচরণ করত। কিন্তু ঔপনিবেশিক আমলের অনিয়ন্ত্রিত শিকার এবং বনভূমি ধ্বংসের কারণে তিনটি প্রজাতিই আজ আমাদের দেশ থেকে চিরতরে বিলুপ্ত হয়ে গেছে।

কেবল ভিত্তিহীন কুসংস্কারের বশবর্তী হয়ে বিশ্বজুড়ে আজও এই নিরীহ প্রাণীদের শিকার করা হচ্ছে; অথচ বিজ্ঞানপ্রমাণিত সত্য হলো গণ্ডারের শিং মানুষের চুল বা নখের মতোই স্রেফ কেরাটিন প্রোটিন দিয়ে তৈরি, যার কোনো ওষধি গুণ নেই। প্রতিবেশী ভারত ও নেপাল সঠিক সময়ে কার্যকর উদ্যোগ নিয়ে গণ্ডার সংরক্ষণে সফলতার বিশ্বমানের দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছে, অন্যদিকে বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস আমাদের সতর্ক করে যে সংরক্ষণে দেরি হলে হারিয়ে যাওয়া প্রাণীকে আর কখনো ফিরিয়ে আনা সম্ভব হয় না।

আজ বিশ্ব গণ্ডার দিবসে আমাদের অঙ্গীকার হোক, দেশের বাকি বিপন্ন বন্যপ্রাণীদের বিলুপ্তির হাত থেকে বাঁচাতে আমরা এখনই সঠিক ও কঠোর পদক্ষেপ নেব।

Today is World Rhino Day, a poignant reminder of the magnificent creatures we have lost and the ones we must urgently protect. Until the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Bangladesh was home to three distinct species: the Indian One-horned Rhino, the Javan Rhino, and the Sumatran Rhino.

Tragically, uncontrolled hunting during the colonial era and rapid habitat destruction drove all three species to local extinction. Worldwide, rhinos continue to face poaching threats driven by senseless superstitions about their horns. In reality, a rhino horn is made entirely of keratin—the exact same protein found in human hair and fingernails—and holds zero medicinal value. While neighboring countries like India and Nepal have created benchmark conservation programs to successfully protect and restore their rhino populations, Bangladesh serves as a stark lesson on the irreversible costs of taking action too late.

World Rhino Day is a call to protect our remaining endangered species before they face the same tragic fate.

If you ask us about one of the coolest projects we've ever run, Trash to Treasure is right at the top of the list.

​We recently brought this initiative to the bright young minds at "Nabinagar Government Primary School" alongside Sustainers NEST. Phase 1 was all about building strong eco-habits—teaching waste segregation, exploring recycling, and getting everyone chanting:

​"Trash কে করো Treasure, পরিবেশের নাই কোনো Pressure!"

​Phase 2 happens next Tuesday, and it’s where the real magic takes place: a live hands-on build day! Student teams will gather their collected scrap—tissue rolls, bottles, cans, cardboard, and ice cream sticks—and use basic tools like scissors, glue, and markers to turn rubbish into art.

​Awesome prizes are waiting for the winning team! Watch this space to see what they create. 🎨🏆
