On 8 May, World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, we join the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in celebrating this year’s theme: United in Humanity.

This year’s theme honours the volunteers and staff who stand alongside communities in times of crisis, not as outsiders, but as part of them. In an increasingly complex and divided world, they turn compassion into action, bringing hope, dignity, and support when it matters most. It is also a tribute to their unwavering commitment, a remembrance of those who lost their lives in service, and a reminder to protect humanitarian action so that neutral, independent, and impartial support can reach those who need it most, wherever they are.

At BDRCS, we are deeply grateful to every volunteer, donor, and supporter who keeps this mission alive.

Because when we stand together, we are truly United in Humanity.

We are grateful to Eastern Bank PLC. for partnering with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) to strengthen Mother and Child Health (MCH) Centres. This support will help improve healthcare services for mothers, children, and vulnerable communities in underserved areas. Together, we continue working towards healthier and safer communities for all.

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) to support and enhance the functionality of selected mother and child health (MCH) centres across the country.
