✅ Why Is Mango Good for You?
Mangoes are packed with vitamin C, vitamin A, antioxidants, dietary fiber, and natural sugars, offering several health benefits:
• Boosts immunity
• Supports eye and skin health
• Aids digestion
• May reduce risk of heart disease
• Helps regulate blood sugar when eaten in moderation
⚠️ Who Should Avoid or Limit Mangoes?
Mangoes have a high natural sugar content. Though their glycemic index is moderate, people with diabetes should limit intake to 100–150g per serving, 2–3 times a week.
It contains potassium and oxalates, which can worsen kidney function or promote kidney stone formation in at-risk individuals.
Some people may react to urushiol (a compound in mango skin), causing rashes, itching, or swelling around the mouth — a reaction sometimes known as “mango mouth.”
Mangoes are high in fiber and sugars. Overeating can lead to gas, bloating, or diarrhea, especially in those with a sensitive gut.
One medium mango contains around 150 calories and ~45g of sugar. Excessive consumption may hinder weight loss goals.
Enjoy mangoes, but be informed and eat in moderation. Stay healthy! 🥭
