ঢাকা, ১৯ জুলাই ২০২৬: পরিবেশবিষয়ক শিক্ষা ও প্রচার ক্যাটাগরিতে 'জাতীয় পরিবেশ পদক ২০২৫' অর্জন করায় বাংলাদেশ রিভার ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারম্যান ও বিশিষ্ট নদী গবেষক নদীবন্ধু মো. মনির হোসেনকে এক জমকালো সংবর্ধনা প্রদান করা হয়েছে। আজ রবিবার সকাল ১০টায় ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন মিলনায়তনে ৪০টিরও বেশি পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠনের যৌথ প্ল্যাটফর্ম "সম্মিলিত পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠন"-এর উদ্যোগে এই অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।

প্রকৃতি ও জীবন ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারম্যান বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জনাব মুকিত মজুমদার বাবুর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মাননীয় প্রশাসক বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জনাব মো: আব্দুস সালাম। অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি ও অন্যতম আলোচক হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন বিশিষ্ট পরিবেশবিজ্ঞানী প্রফেসর ড. কামরুজ্জামান মজুমদার, হালদা নদী রক্ষায় কাজ করে চলা প্রফেসর ড. মনজুরুল কিবরিয়া।

প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মাননীয় প্রশাসক বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জনাব মো: আব্দুস সালাম বলেন, "নদী ও পরিবেশ রক্ষা কেবল সরকারের একার দায়িত্ব নয়, এটি আমাদের নাগরিক কর্তব্য। মো. মনির হোসেনের মতো নিবেদিতপ্রাণ ব্যক্তিরা যখন জাতীয় স্তরে স্বীকৃতি পান, তখন পরিবেশ আন্দোলনের কর্মীরা আরও উৎসাহিত হন। ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন পরিবেশ সুরক্ষায় এবং শহরের চারপাশের জলাশয় ও নদী রক্ষায় পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠনগুলোর সাথে একযোগে কাজ করতে বদ্ধপরিকর।"

সভাপতির বক্তব্যে প্রকৃতি ও জীবন ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারম্যান বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জনাব মুকিত মজুমদার বাবু বলেন, "পরিবেশ ও নদী আজ চরম সংকটে। এই সময়ে মো. মনির হোসেনের মতো একজন মাঠপর্যায়ের কর্মীর জাতীয় পরিবেশ পদক লাভ অত্যন্ত গৌরবের। সম্মিলিত পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠনের এই উদ্যোগ প্রমাণ করে যে, আমরা পরিবেশ রক্ষায় সবাই ঐক্যবদ্ধ। আমাদের আগামী প্রজন্মের জন্য একটি সবুজ ও সুজলা-সুফলা বাংলাদেশ রেখে যেতে হলে নদী ও প্রকৃতির সুরক্ষায় এই সামাজিক আন্দোলন আরও বেগবান করতে হবে।"

বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে হালদা নদী গবেষক ও চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাণিবিদ্যা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. মনজুরুল কিবরিয়া বলেন, "বাংলাদেশের নদী ও প্রাকৃতিক জীববৈচিত্র্য আজ নানা কারণে বিপন্ন। মো. মনির হোসেনের মতো মানুষেরা মাঠপর্যায়ে নদী রক্ষায় যে নিরলস ভূমিকা রাখছেন, তা সত্যি প্রশংসনীয়। তাঁর এই 'জাতীয় পরিবেশ পদক' প্রাপ্তি দেশের পরিবেশ আন্দোলনের জন্য এক বড় অনুপ্রেরণা। হালদা নদী থেকে শুরু করে দেশের প্রতিটি নদ-নদী রক্ষায় আমাদের বৈজ্ঞানিক গবেষণা ও সামাজিক আন্দোলনের মেলবন্ধন ঘটাতে হবে। আজ ৪০টিরও বেশি সংগঠনের এই ঐক্যবদ্ধ সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠান প্রমাণ করে যে, পরিবেশ রক্ষায় আমরা সবাই এক সমান্তরালে দাঁড়িয়ে আছি।"

বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে প্রফেসর ড. কামরুজ্জামান মজুমদার বলেন, "পরিবেশ শিক্ষার প্রসার ও প্রচারের মাধ্যমেই জনসচেতনতা তৈরি সম্ভব। মো. মনির হোসেন দীর্ঘদিন ধরে নদী ও পরিবেশ নিয়ে যে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ও তাত্ত্বিক কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন, এই পদক তারই যোগ্য স্বীকৃতি। দেশের ৪০টিরও বেশি পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠন আজ তাকে সম্মানিত করতে এখানে সমবেত হয়েছে, যা দেশের পরিবেশ আন্দোলনের এক অভূতপূর্ব দৃষ্টান্ত।"

সংবর্ধিত অতিথি বাংলাদেশ রিভার ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারম্যান ও নদীবন্ধু মো. মনির হোসেন তার অনুভূতি ব্যক্ত করে বলেন, "এই অর্জন আমার একার নয়, এটি বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি নদী ও পরিবেশকর্মীর জয়। 'জাতীয় পরিবেশ পদক ২০২৫' আমাকে প্রকৃতির প্রতি দায়িত্ব আরও বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। দেশের ৪০টি শীর্ষস্থানীয় পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠন আজ আমাকে যে ভালোবাসা ও সম্মান দেখালো, তা আমাকে আমৃত্যু নদী ও মানুষের অধিকার রক্ষায় কাজ করার শক্তি যোগাবে।"

অনুষ্ঠানে সংর্বধিত অতিথিকে সম্মিলিত পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠনের পক্ষ থেকে সম্মাননা স্মারক ও পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে বিভিন্ন পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠনের কেন্দ্রীয় নেতৃবৃন্দ, পরিবেশবিদ, গবেষক এবং সুশীল সমাজের প্রতিনিধিরা উপস্থিত থেকে নদী ও পরিবেশ রক্ষায় ঐক্যবদ্ধভাবে কাজ করার প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন।

▣ Inclusive Climate Pathways: Advancing Climate Finance, Just Transition and Gender Justice

As Bangladesh moves towards revising its National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and implementing the updated Climate Change Gender Action Plan, the need for inclusive, equitable and transformative climate action has never been greater.

Against this backdrop, a high-level dialogue titled “Inclusive Climate Pathways: Advancing Climate Finance, Just Transition and Gender Justice” was organised by NACOM and Bonhishikha, in partnership with the Department of Environment, with the support of ActionAid Bangladesh.

The dialogue brought together representatives from the government, development partners, civil society, academia and youth leadership to discuss practical pathways for advancing Bangladesh’s climate agenda.

▪️ Evidence-based and people-centred climate policies
▪️ Stronger youth and civil society engagement in climate governance

🤝 Meaningful participation of youth and civil society in high-level policy dialogues is essential to ensure that climate policies reflect the realities, aspirations and rights of communities on the frontlines of climate change.

গুরুতর আহত বাঘিনীকে উদ্ধার, দীর্ঘমেয়াদী চিকিৎসা প্রদান করে পুনরায় সফলভাবে সুন্দরবনে অবমুক্ত করার ঘটনা বাংলাদেশে এটিই প্রথম।

আজ রবিবার (১২ জুলাই) সুন্দরবনে বাঘ পুণর্বাসনের এই ঐতিহাসিক অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন পরিবেশ, বন ও জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রী শেখ ফরিদুল ইসলাম, এমপি।

We are pleased to share that Mehedi Hasan represented The Sundarbans Organization at the first meeting of the BREATHE Coalition (Building Resilient Engagement for Air, Transparency & Health Equity), held on 23 June 2026 at the Coalition Secretariat, Global Platform Bangladesh.

As Bangladesh's first youth-led clean air coalition begins its journey, The Sundarbans Organization is proud to stand alongside fellow youth organizations and civil society partners in advancing clean air, environmental justice, and climate resilience.

আজ রাজধানীর মানিক মিয়া এভিনিউতে অনুষ্ঠিত Global Climate Strike 2026-এ অংশগ্রহণ করেছে The Sundarbans Organization এর ৩০ জন ইয়ুথ ক্লাইমেট অ্যাক্টিভিস্ট।

আমাদের প্রতিনিধিদলের নেতৃত্ব দেন সংগঠনের প্রেসিডেন্ট সানজিদা ইসলাম রুনা।

“তেলে টাকা খাবি কী, যদি না থাকে পৃথিবী” — এই শ্লোগানে মুখরিত হয়ে তরুণরা জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানিমুক্ত ভবিষ্যৎ, নবায়নযোগ্য জ্বালানির বিস্তার এবং জলবায়ু ন্যায়বিচারের দাবিতে একত্রিত হয়।
