আজ রাজধানীর মানিক মিয়া এভিনিউতে অনুষ্ঠিত Global Climate Strike 2026-এ অংশগ্রহণ করেছে The Sundarbans Organization এর ৩০ জন ইয়ুথ ক্লাইমেট অ্যাক্টিভিস্ট।

আমাদের প্রতিনিধিদলের নেতৃত্ব দেন সংগঠনের প্রেসিডেন্ট সানজিদা ইসলাম রুনা।

“তেলে টাকা খাবি কী, যদি না থাকে পৃথিবী” — এই শ্লোগানে মুখরিত হয়ে তরুণরা জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানিমুক্ত ভবিষ্যৎ, নবায়নযোগ্য জ্বালানির বিস্তার এবং জলবায়ু ন্যায়বিচারের দাবিতে একত্রিত হয়।

উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের মানুষ প্রতিনিয়ত জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের ভয়াবহ প্রভাব মোকাবিলা করছে। তাই এখনই প্রয়োজন কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ, টেকসই উন্নয়ন এবং তরুণদের নেতৃত্বে পরিবেশ রক্ষার আন্দোলনকে আরও শক্তিশালী করা।

This platform is more than a competition—it is a space where youth voices drive change, bridge national and grassroots realities, and promote accountability through dialogue. As a team rooted in coastal resilience, climate action, and community development, we are committed to bringing forward the perspectives of vulnerable communities, especially from the Sundarbans region.

A solidarity gathering was held in Mawa in support of Tony’s solo march from Digrir Char—the point where the Brahmaputra enters Bangladesh—to the Bay of Bengal, protesting river degradation and the expansion of fossil fuel projects.

Organized by Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra–DHORA, the event saw participation from various organizations, including The Sundarbans Organization , conveying a strong call for the protection of rivers and the Sundarbans, and reaffirming commitment to environmental protection and climate justice.

The Sundarbans Organization, as a Co-Organizer, joined the observation of the International Day of Clean Energy 2026 through a youth-led Rickshaw Rally for Clean Energy & a Just Future in Dhaka.

The public action amplified youth demands for a clean, just, and people-centred energy transition, emphasizing that energy justice must be treated as a current political priority, not a future commitment

As part of the action, a Civil Society Demand Charter on Just Energy Transition was formally submitted to political party offices, calling for clear and concrete commitments ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election.
Youth voices are united: clean energy is needed now.

Join us on 28 January 2026 as youth and civil society come together to mark the International Day of Clean Energy 2026 and raise our collective voice for a clean, renewable, and just energy transition.

Venue : In front of Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park, Gulshan-2

The programme will include a youth gathering, public messaging, and a decorated rickshaw rally carrying people’s demands for clean energy and climate justice.

The Sundarbans Organization is participating in the 3rd Coastal Water Convention 2026, held from 24 to 26 January 2026 in Khulna, Bangladesh.

Our initiative, “The Coastal Wellbeing Initiative”, has been selected for abstract presentation. Md Emon Shahriar, Chief Executive, The Sundarbans Organization, representing our organization at this international platform. We are engaging with researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss coastal water challenges, community wellbeing, and sustainable solutions.

We look forward to contributing meaningfully throughout the convention.
