CDS came into existence as a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and non sectarian development organization.It is a Christian humanitarian and development organization working for the destitute and poor people of the country. Main objectives of the organization are to bear witness to the Lord and preach the good news of the kingdom of God through its all interventions. It was formed by some dedic
ated and enthusiastic Christian young people of SHIMULIA in 1996 aiming to develop the socio-economic condition of the landless, marginal peasants, destitute men & women and children of rural areas and to create awareness on socio-economic situation development of human resources, create job opportunities in the field of handicrafts, agriculture etc. & provide stipend for the poor students and medicine support to the poor sick people from the income of its handicrafts project. Vision : CDS considers Bangladesh Society to be economically productive and equitable socially just, environmentally sound and genuinely democratic. Mission : Holistic qualitative and sustainable development through upgrading of living standard and empowerment of the poor. Aim : To empower distressed and vulnerable poor people in socio-economic emancipation to lead an active and healthy life through group formation, activation of group dynamism, conscientiousness, training, non-formal education, micro-credit for economic activities, sanitation, environmental up gradation, saplings for social forestry by mobilizing local sources especially manpower water and soil along with facilitate them in establishing their due rights in the society.
