Seminar on Engineering Geology
Yesterday, a highly informative academic seminar was successfully organized by the Geological Society, JSTU at Jamalpur Science & Technology University.

On behalf of YEG JSTU, we sincerely appreciate and give full credit to the Geological Society for arranging such a well-structured and impactful program.

Title: “Introduction to Geotechnology: Understanding the Earth Through Laboratory Studies.”

The seminar highlighted key aspects of Engineering Geology and geotechnical investigations, including:

1️⃣ Sample Collection Techniques.
2️⃣ Physical Properties & Classification of Soil.
3️⃣ SPT (Basic to Advanced) and N-value interpretation.
4️⃣ Triaxial Method for undisturbed soil assessment.
5️⃣ Oedometer Test for consolidation analysis.
6️⃣ Resistivity Method for subsurface investigation.

The session provided valuable practical insights into laboratory testing and field investigation methods, greatly benefiting the students.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our honorable Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for their continuous inspiration and support. Special thanks to our respected Main Invited Speaker for the insightful presentation, and to all our esteemed department teachers for their guidance, presence, and encouragement that made the seminar truly successful.

IAEG_YEG_JSTU Bangladesh Chapter proudly participated in the 15th Asian Regional Conference (ARC-15) of IAEG, held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 27-29 November 2025. Our delegation consisting of the President, Vice President, and Secretary General-attended the conference as both presenters and active participants. This international platform enabled us to exchange knowledge, build meaningful academic and professional connections, and represent Bangladesh in the global engineering geology community.
