Mubarak Ahmad Khan has transformed jute from a traditional fiber into a modern solution for environmental challenges over decades of research. His work focuses on replacing harmful synthetic materials with alternatives that are sustainable, and biodegradable.

From his work emerged transformative innovations like the ๐’๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ข ๐๐š๐  and ๐‰๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ง, turning jute into a viable alternative to plastic and conventional building materials. The Sonali Bag, made from jute cellulose, offers a biodegradable alternative to polythene, while Jutin provides a durable, lightweight, and eco-friendly construction material. These advancements have positioned Bangladesh prominently in field of green material science.

His outstanding contributions to science and environmental sustainability has earned him numerous national and international honors, including the ๐†๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐Œ๐ž๐๐š๐ฅ from the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and MIT Solve Health Security & Pandemic Award, highlighted by the Independence Award in 2024.

Over more than three decades, Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury transformed how Bangladesh manages public money. As 12th COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL And Former FINANCE SECRETARY, his initiatives improved transparency and efficiency.

Under his leadership, iBAS++ and A-Challan were introduced, enabling real-time tracking of government funds, while employee and pension databases enhanced management. Government-to-Person payments were also launched, making it easier for citizens to receive support.

Recognition came in the form of the JANA PRASHASHAN AWARD in 2017, formally honoring his contributions to public service.

An alumnus of University of Chittagong, Chowdhury earned a masterโ€™s with distinction in Finance and Accounting from the University of Birmingham, an academic foundation that guided his reforms.

While , serving as ๐‚๐‡๐€๐ˆ๐‘๐Œ๐€๐ ๐Ž๐… ๐’๐Ž๐๐€๐‹๐ˆ ๐๐€๐๐Š , Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury led the institution to its highest-ever operating profit in 2025 and eliminated its capital deficit.
